Circuit City offers 20% off 'all' DS games
When our colleagues over as DS Fanboy first reported on Circuity City's 20% off DS game sale, they claimed the sale prices only applied to in-store purchases. Turns out they were wrong, as the sale evidently applies to CircuityCity.com as well, with plenty of great games dropping in price by as much as 10 bucks.
Oddly enough, the sale affects almost every DS title on the site, though skips over a random few like Planet Puzzle League and Nintendogs. Despite this, plenty of other great games are available at reduced price, including The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Final Fantasy III, and even the recently released Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles.
To top it off, Circuit City offers free shipping for orders over $24, meaning the majority of these titles can be shipped for nothing more than the discounted price plus tax. Of course, the sales are only as good as the supplies last. We recommend doing as we have done, and ordering sooner rather than later; we expect stocks will dwindle quickly once word gets out.

My wife stocks shelves at the wilmington, de store. Look up their sales numbers compared to yours and feel lucky you don't do that business.
Abhinav Kumar @ Feb 6th 2008 10:45PM
I had already ordered advance wars and Zelda PH for a mere $55 (after tax) but i might also get Final Fantasy 3 since it's $30 instead of the usual $40.

One is rated, the other is Rating Pending... So, I assume they just made changes from the time that was created, till it was released.

If anyone is interested, I just bought about 1 hour earlier, Star Fox DS on Walmart, at $19.99 in a bundle with a case, screen protectors and several stylus.
They have Elite Beat Agents bundle too for the same price.
doom saber @ Feb 6th 2008 11:53PM
The elite beat agent one is everywhere at Walmart. However, the Starfox one seems harder to find and is probably a goodbuy since I only seen that bundle once in person.
Fernando Rocker @ Feb 7th 2008 12:02AM
Its a very good deal... both Star Fox and Elite Beat Agents (a very good game) are at $30, the game alone.
The bundle is the game with a $10 discount, and a lot of goodies.
=)

wow Guzzie you went through a lot of effort just to take a shot at Fernando like that
now tell me
WAS IT WORTH IT?!
probably not
Fernando Rocker @ Feb 7th 2008 12:12AM
I like Walmart... I don't know why the hate... is the same piece of software if you buy it in CC, Best Buy, or Walmart. Is the same. And cheaper.
And its great to make shopping at 1 am. or to go to buy games before the release date...
I went at 8 pm to pick my DMC4 copy, the to walmart, and picked up Star Fox for $20 and Proffesor Layton for $30 (4 days before the official release date)
But lol... I liked the pic...
Guzzie @ Feb 7th 2008 12:13AM
Couldn't resist.
BPM 6th Mix MAX @ Feb 7th 2008 12:53AM
"I don't know why the hate..."
The general hatred for Wal-Mart doesn't come from the products they sell, but their very unethical business practices. Not to say the likes of Kmart or Target are saints in the business world, but Wal-Mart's practices are more questionable/controvertial/whatever than all other retailers combined (may be a bit of a stretch, but oh well).
-In Arizona, they don't pay property taxes (which is part of what funds the education system in the state), which means everyone else has to cover for their share.
-They purposely sell things very cheap to drive out the competition. Once the competition's gone, they can control the prices as they see fit.
-They're strongly against unions.
-A couple of questionable site locations:
---They once tried to build a location over a graveyard in Hawaii (not sure what became of that).
---They also tried to build a store near some Aztec ruins in Mexico (also not sure of the outcome).
So, yeah. There's a lot more, though.

i'd be interested to hear your views on Starfox DS
i was really unimpressed with the entire story, gameplay was actually pretty solid though
doom saber @ Feb 7th 2008 3:39AM
I agree that Elite Beat Agents is a good game, but I already own that. However, I may go and order the Starfox game. Other than those two, the other bundle packs offered by Walmart is meh.

"...with plenty of great games dropping in price by as much as 10 bucks."
There isn't seriously $50 DS games, is there?
"To top it off, Circuit City offers free shipping for orders over $24, meaning the majority of these titles can be shipped for nothing more than the discounted price plus tax."
Kinda sucks, considering that a large portion of DS games are $29.99, putting their discounted price at just a cent below the minimum to qualify for this. How much is shipping?
doom saber @ Feb 6th 2008 11:51PM
True, Richard. I had to order a Nykko light up pen withadvance wars for free shipping. I should have thought about it a bit more rather than ordering the stylus for free shipping since I was also planning to get the Sheryl Crow CD that was on sell there.
Rather than cancelling my order to insert the cd with the other items, I just bought the album alone since 2 dollars is nothing.
I do need a bigger stylus, though, so no lose there.
Karen @ Feb 7th 2008 8:47AM
Just search around the site you can find filler items for $1.
Norty @ Feb 6th 2008 11:45PM
Well, I'm using this to finally purchase Mario Kart and Sonic Rush. (I borrowed someones MK for a long time but never picked up my own)
My DS has collected dust recently, so this is a good reason to brush the old boy off and start him up again.

R4DS is currently offering 100% off DS games.
BPM 6th Mix MAX @ Feb 7th 2008 12:53AM
What, you mean a five-finger discount?
ThornedVenom @ Feb 7th 2008 1:58AM
The DS is the best console of this generation, all categories included, hands-down.
Karen @ Feb 7th 2008 8:43AM
I picked up Advance Wars last Sunday while Vacationing in the US. I wish I would have remembered to buy Mario Kart too.
rtcfilm @ Feb 7th 2008 3:59PM
Went to my local Circuit City yesterday... The 20% didn't ring up and the clerk was a monosyllabic idiot who didn't know about the sale, despite the signs hanging above the rack... Took him ten minutes to ask his manager what to do... Got Phoenix Wright: Justice For All for 12 bucks, though!
