First Guitar Hero 4 song revealed
It's amazing where you find video game news these days. Case in point, Eurogamer has picked up on a press release from British rock band The Answer, touting the inclusion of their single "Never Too Late" (video above) in the next Guitar Hero game (which, incidentally and unsurprisingly, is coming out by the end of 2008).
The band was one of 20 picked by Activision at a Guitar Hero listening session put on by Activision at France's MIDEM conference, where over 200 artists vied for a coveted spot in the new game. Answer fan debbywebby has also posted a list of 30 other tracks that are "unconfirmed as of yet" for the game. There's no indication where she got her information, but when has that mattered? Let the rampant speculation begin!

But how 'bout those downloadable songs...
Yeah it really really sounded like Led.
Single-player Rock Band was infinitely more fun than single-player GH, and I advise anyone on the fence (and disappointed by GH3) to go out and pick up a Rock Band disc - you'll be blown away.

Right now though, if stuff like that is what we have to look forward to for the main playlist, I think my money is safe.

I kid, I kid. But Bl-Activion's really going to have to pull it together. And soon. Letting EA show them up like that. For shame.

Besides, once you get done with guitar, there's still vocals and drums you have yet to master. And I can garaundamntee you, you won't be beating RB drums on expert for a VERY long time.
If only there were another difficulty level, even more fun and more challenging than Hard, on Rock Band. A difficulty setting for expert-level players.
GH3 took the essence of GH, and crushed it completly.
I don't know exactly what it is. It seems like Guitar Hero does a few "unrealistic" things that just make it more fun to play. It seems like the guitar chords have their volume turned up artificially a bit in Guitar Hero, meaning you can actually hear what you're playing whereas in Rock Band I would often strum guitar notes that didn't seem to make any sound in the song. Further, Rock Band seems to stay more true to separating each instrument right down to bass guitar vs. lead guitar. In Guitar Hero, it lets you switch back and forth more often. So in Guitar Hero, if verse 1 has only a bass guitar going and verse 2 has a lead guitar on top of that, you would play the bass guitar in verse 1 and the lead guitar in verse 2 whereas in Rock Band you'd either sit on your ass for 45 seconds picking your nose during verse 1, or play the same repetitive bass track on every section of the song.
I dunno, it's kind of the opposite of what people try and tell me but when I play Guitar Hero (even GH3) I actually feel like I'm playing a song. When I play Rock Band I feel like I'm pressing random buttons while some unrelated music plays in the background.
As for drums, I can't stand them. Not that they're bad, it's just I'm a lousy drummer. :P
When we want to compete, there's Guitar Hero.
When we want to play guitar parts, I get the GH controller and don't have a whole lot of sympathy for whoever gets the garbage RB controller.

And GH4 already? I'm guessing Activision has totally given up on GH3 DLC?
