We know already that the European and Japanese versions of Suda51's No More Heroes are a tad less bloody than their American counterpart. But exactly how much blood are they missing out on?
As the above comparison video shows, there's certainly a lot of blood in the American version that's absent from the others, but whether you'll actually miss it depends on your preference for riotously excess gore. We already know that Suda51 believed the American version simply needed more blood than the others; whether the game is actually better with fountains of ruby will ultimately depend on personal taste (or, apparently, your country of residence).

Seeing the blood now in full effect, it's so clear that us Europeans will be missing so much from the missing blood.
The over the top blood is part of the game: this game needs the blood. It would be like playing Killer 7 without the blood spurts going anywhere and everywhere. The lack of satisfaction will be diminished. The blood looks no more violent than Ichi the Killer, Izo, Battle Royale...etc.
Bah. Maybe there will be an Action Replay released that will unedit this. Or a super-secret blood mode.

But damn dialog was corny... "I don't care about titles or power, I just want to be number one".
Isn't being #1 a title?

I was really looking forward to that game, but I'm buggered if I'm pay for a SNES-Mortal Kombat version.

When i heard "no blood" i didn't think they meant "entire game castrated".
Granted i wasn't aware that NMH actually had this much gore (dismemberment in plain sight etc) but its horrible to see this as a european.
I'm still not sure why the game was ungored but it makes no sense to me -- movies that are rated 15 here are easily more gorey than this so why should the american version not be allowed in an 18 game?
Anyway, shame.

For the non-idiots who are wondering why this game is being castrated....remember that game Manhunt 2 that you said you did not care if it was banned? Yea? Well guess what, in the industry, everyone is now afraid to release gory games in Europe thanks to you guys letting it get fed to the government dogs.
I do not care if the game sucks, if it does, then let it die in the market under fair terms.
But now that Europe has said no to such games, expect more developers doing this. I predict Ninja Gaiden 2 will be next....
Bastards.

The non-American version seems ridiculous - like he just knocked Death Metal's giant blade out of his hands with a light saber (sorry, beam katana), and Death Metal accepts that as proof of his defeat. It makes no sense - why not just leap for your sword, or try hand-to-hand, or something like that.
While the American version works better (you need hands for hand-to-hand combat, after all), it suffers from too much blood. You'd think Death Metal was a walking blood bank, the way he bleeds in that scene. Particularly how much gushing he does when decapitated - he wouldn't gush that much even if he hadn't just lost his upper arms (the bleeding from that would pretty much by default lower the amount of pressure, due to decreased volume).
I think there was a reasonable medium choice - some blood, but not as much or with as much spray. Though it is worth noting, later battles are distinctively less copious with the blood.

Unrealistic, Over the top? Well no shit, that's what the entire game is! Unless you think a anime-nerd with a lightsaber fighting a school girls and superheroes is serious business.
Sorry, Brits, you lose this one. Maybe if the next game has gratuitous sex and instead of violence, eh?

I don't get why they don't just let the player chose which way they want to play it. Fuck this "You get this version, and you get that version" bullcrap. Let people play whichever version they want to play.
But I am wondering one thing: Suda says the US version is "closer" to his original vision. So...what exactly was his original vision?
