That's purely amazing! If this happened here, then I would be one of the lucky millions :)

"Wow" doesn't quite cut it, sorry. What is Japan? 1/10 of the population of the US? This is the equivalent of selling 8 Million in 4 days stateside.

Uh, just contrast this to ALL game sales in japan, and you'll realise how ignorant that statement was.

No, they're only about 1/3 of the US. So it would equate to about 2 and a half million in that period of time

2.5 Million in 4 days is still amazing.

And Rupee, thanks for the vote of confidence. If you reread what I wrote, you'll understand that I was just mistaken about the population of Japan, but being "ignorant" about how well the game has done.

Sure, but it is the highest selling debut of a Game on a Nintendo CONSOLE in history. That, or highest debut for a Nintendo game on their home Consoles.

... in Japan, that is.

As Famitsu reported, "You usually don't see this many people line up for a release unless it is Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest"

While I don't have the game yet, I must admit, one of the reasons to get this game is for the amazing sound track (which I, uh, downloaded by means I won't mention). But, 800,000 copies!? Holy crap, imagine the sales in the US next month!

Unfortunately Nintendo has no more tricks up its sleeves as this is perhaps their biggest seller for the Wii ever and will ever be. I dream of the day when a Million Seller happens during the First week of sales.

Happy to see a hardcore game doing so well in Japan, they had me worried for a seriously long time. To commemorate Brawl's release stateside I am hosting a giveaway over at my blog at http://nintendowiigalaxy.blogspot.com so if any of you are looking to score one of two free copies of Brawl the week after it launches show on up and enter the free contest. Thanks.
