I don't know where you're shopping but my PS3 only came with 1 controller, an unwanted game (that wasn't even included in earlier SKUs), no remote control and no hi-def cable.

Each one's got its plusses and minuses.

I think a lot of those people are the same people who bought a 360 near/at launch and aren't ready to shell out another $400 for an extra controller and a couple exclusives.

I've had my 360 for 2 years now and gotten all the big multi-plat games (Assassin's Creed

lack of exclusive games that are compelling. A sports car without any gas is just a hunk of metal. A games console without games that I want to play is..the playstation 3.

It also doesn't help that I Sony rubbed me the wrong way with the design, marketing and development tools for the console I also don't think it has the power it was billed to have.

@jsn
I understand you problems but you have quickly forgotten the point in time where the 360 didn't having any great games but everyone still went out got one. I'm not saying that the 360 didn't have good games but it didn't have great games. There was no Gears of War, Halo, Bioshock or Mass Effect...just Lost Planet, Pefect Dark and Dead Raising. Good games but not great. But now the PS3 is getting games like Resistance 2, MGS4, LBP and FF...not including to the good games that all ready out like Uncharted, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Resistance and Tekken 5 Online.

You also claim that the PS3 is not what its cut up to be. But look at the first generation PS2 games compared to God of War 2... Better yet like at the launch 360 games compared to Bioshock. Developer just need time.

Sorry, but your last sentence just made me spit that out.

I hope this pans out soon, like in the next couple months. I've basically been holding off to get a PS3 till MGS4 (I like to call it the $500 game). Hopefully with that and GTA4 coming out soonish, Sony will realize those titles + console price cuts = sales bonanza. I just hope they don't drop the rumored "slim PS3" right after I finally pony up.

IBM once again proves that they can still build chips like it's nobody's business. Now the real question: was the dime in the photo to prove to Intel that they're not the only ones who can produce a tiny chip?

It cut off my message =[ Sorry, here it is in full...

I think a lot of those people are the same people who bought a 360 near/at launch and aren't ready to shell out another $400 for an extra controller and a couple exclusives.

I've had my 360 for 2 years now and gotten all the big multi-plat games Assassin's Creed, etc as well as 360 exclusives, Bioshock, Mass Effect, etc. but I still have my eye on those PS3 exclusives MGS4, LBP, Uncharted, etc.

I am one of those people who already paid $400+ for my xbox, which still works by the way, and am holding out for a lower price on the ps3 so I won't have to have spent an extra $200 just for those exclusive games.

I haven't been too happy with some of Sony's moves going into the PS3 era. I have my old PS2 and it's still running great after 7 years of abuse and I'm ready to give this new, slimmer, cooler PS3 a try. Just waiting for one last tiny price drop and I'm going all in. Besides, that gives me a few months to let games like Uncharted drop to $20 on eBay

I wouldn't want to be the person that gets the chip under that coin...it is likely broken...

They're likely ALL broken. I dunno much about chip manufacturing, but I always thought a clean room/vaccuum environment was required until the processors were actually attached to the chip part itself and ready for installation. I don't think they have dimes in those environments, and certainly wouldn't be taking a picture of a dime on a wafer like that.

You can tell by how shiny those chips are they haven't had a passivization layer applied. That means none of them are long for this world anyway. They're all throwaways.

It's probably one of them show wafers. The kind that they love to whip out during conferences, put on display, shake hands with random business types while the press does the things with the flashes..

The PS3 is down 33% in a year already. What do you mean" when do all these savings get passed onto the consumer?"

Tell you what, Wii costs far less to produce, why is it still the same price after a year?

Because Nintendo has absolutely no reason to change the price of the Wii. Sony on the other hand does.

I hope that when Sony releases the new SKU's with Dual Shock 3's and larger hard drives, these new Cells are in there so I can finally buy one. Not doing it til this happens.

My 20 GB launch unit is still rock solid aside from loose USB ports that you have to wiggle to get full connectivity out of..

If the next revision is better, I might have to consider using up my extended warranty to get a freebie upgrade.
