You seem to have forgotten Star Trek and Ninja Warrior there.

Now that's the entire list of shows that they play.

I've always appreciated Gerstmann and listening to The Hotspot now... it's just not the same. Not because of some emotional thing, but just because of his expertise that's missing. He's a guys that lives and breathes videogames and whatever the game, platform or topic, he always had something relevant to say.

Lately the quality of The Hotspot just isn't the same anymore, even to the point where they are either behind the times, or just plain wrong.

This is even more apparant in their video show On The Spot, the people demonstrating just don't know the things they should know when doing a demo of a game. If you're gonna have a game on your show, you had better know it inside out.

Regardless of the nerd outrage over the firing, there's a reason people don't go to Gamespot anymore, the quality is way down, across the board. They are woefully late with their reviews for one.

Brain drain, yeh...

Yeah, I'm really sick of seeing his big, dumb fat face everywhere. All the sudden he's someone important because he got fired? Who cares where he works next, it's not like he's ever done anything particularly useful. Game reviewers are a dime a dozen. Be right back, I'm officially an overnight celebrity, let me dye my hair and try to get a tan. He reminds me of Warden.

I'm pretty sure that's an old picture, he didn't dye is hair to match his newfound celebrity. So are you still mad about twilight princess?

The "new" X-Play is a joke. They are trying to be more like one of their other many joke shows "Attack of the Show" and have it be more of an all around thing. They still focus on gaming, but now it's more interviews, and news (Which they didn't have before), Hands-on, and they even added Cheat! (I guess they finally cancelled that show). But I will watch it tonight, maybe he'll come out and say what we all know, that his ass got (undeservingly) fired for that Kane and Lynch review. Or maybe they will cancel the cesspool of suckage that is X-Play... One can only hope.

I agree. I miss TechTV. G4 just straight up sucks. TechTV had the screensavers which was awesome. And Call for help with Chris Pirillo. Then Chris got fired cause Leo got butt hurt cause Chris made the show watchable, and Leo took his position. Thats when the channel started to go down hill. And then got eaten by G4.

The Screen Savers is now Attack of the CRAP. And they have nothing useful to talk about cause they are all stupid, but attractive kids. The only shows on G4 I enjoyed occasionally was X-Play for the funny factor of Adam. Star Trek: TNG because Patrick Stewart is awesome. And Sasuke.

The new Xplay isn't bad. I caught it before. Although, I was one of the few who didn't mind the quirky reviews before and even found some funny.

You cant delete comments.

When you use a password then it is posted directly. If you dont use the pass then you at least have the option of not using the email verification and then the comment never posts.

I can't stand the guy. He obviously had biases, and rated things on a "HOLY COOL EXPLOSIONS WOW! MULTIPLAYER! ZOOM BOOM!" Perspective. I hate how he's become sort of a hero.
The guy frickin' rated games badly for being "More of the same".. unless it was "More of the same" multiplayer shootin'. Then that was okay!
This, apparently, is PERFECTLY FINE to some people.

I don't think the big issue about this guy in particular. The whole reason his story about Gamespot firing him is such a big deal is because of WHY he got fired. If it truly was advertiser pressure then that completely undermines the rating system of their website. If an advertiser can influence the rating a game will get just by paying or not paying for advertisements on a review website, then the website itself is "broken" and should never be taken seriously.

If Gerstmann was just a jackass to his employers, then that's a different story.

Never seen X-Play but I agree with the remark in the Joystiq article that the Japanese games lack innovation, the Japanese game I really did like was FF VII and that was back in the early 90's.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, people aren't upset that Gerstmann was fired. People are upset because Gerstmann was fired over shady business practices. If anything Gerstmann should have been fired looong before this incident ever happened.

No, it is actually the former. The implications are only an aside. Look up any of 1up's or IGN's debacles and they've hardly had as much coverage.

I just want everyone in here to know this:

Oakley sunglasses make you look like a f-in duche. Especially when worn by someone ugly with a collared shirt.

I warned you geeks. They are a form of contraception. Only occasion to wear those ugly things is if you bike like Lance F'in Armstrong.

The more you know... (musically: wongwong wong wooong)
