Ok I'll bite.

Noshino, you're full of crap. Ninja Gaiden is just as fast if not faster, requires much much more skill, and baddies don't just stand there and let you kill them.

DMC

NG

Now I bet your gonna tell me GT>Forza, Killzone>Halo, R&C>Mario, CTR>Mario Kart, Katamari>Portal... should I continue?

Raikage, your comparison was completely fucking useless as it really only proves that enemies in a game on easy (DMC4 demo) are easier than enemies on Hard (Master Ninja)

You could do the same comparison with only one game.

Raikage,

like Trev mentioned, you are comparing different difficulties.

Once again, I like NG, I have seen many people play it, and the few times I played it I enjoyed it, its a hell of a game.

But one can't deny the fact that out of the 3 combofest hack n slash kind of games, Ninja Gaiden has the slowest pace compared to GoW and DMC

So basically this is more of the same, and if you liked the last ones you'll like this one?

As far as "more of the same" is concerned:
The game mechanics are the same as DMC3, though nicely expanded upon, but that in and of itself is vastly different from the original and far more usable than DMC2.
I can understand if people compare this to DMC3, seeing as how the combat system works the same, but I wouldn't compare DMC4 to the the first or second.

DMC4 has by far the most awesome combat mechanics (rivaling that of Capcom's 2D fighters).
I give this game a 10/10.

I loved the first one, skipped the second, liked the third but got bored of it because it was more of the same, but this one...oh my what have they done?

Its so severely dumbed down, easy, and repetitive. They took half the depth out of it. I'm willing to bet you could beat the game using one single move. (I beat the entire demo with that cheap ass warp to your enemy move over and over again just to see if I could, and I could, it wasn't even hard to pull off) It's not even in the same league as 1 and 3. The fighting system has been dumbed down so much, not just the enemies so I doubt its something a difficulty level could fix. They also took the corniness that made the first 3 amusing, and took it WAY too far, its completely ridiculous the stuff that comes out of peoples mouths in this game. I really hate to describe things as gay...but gay. The characters are SO gay. I'd recommend picking up DMC3 Collectors Edition for the PS2 for the proper experience. Its probably hella cheap too considering it was 20 bucks new last time I checked which was a long time ago. Don't ruin DMC for yourself, avoid this game.

It's like they took some generic beat em up game and replaced all the textures to make it DMC. Imagine a super easy Ninja Gaiden with half the moves from the last game, would that be any fun? It's pretty much the same effect. Although I'm sure they aren't going to do that with the next Ninja Gaiden because Team Ninja takes their stuff so seriously. Definitely some truth to that games getting easier theory.

There are 6 difficulties! One even beyond Dante Must Die! I suggest trying those out... since you haven't really beaten a DMC game until you've completed all difficulties! ;D

wait..so you've only played the demo?...good review. i actually like the series (sans #2) and think, after playing the ENTIRE game, that it was actually pretty good. DMC with cheesy lines? check...hack and slash fighting? check...increasingly difficult bosses? check....what were you expecting? i gotta get off this site.

Play it on "Hell or Hell" mode. Yes, not "Heaven or Hell" one hit kills on everything, but "hell or hell" which is Dante Must Die, where ONLY YOU die in one hit.

Then come back and say that its easy.

I knew that part was going to be confusing, or that people would deliberately assume I never played the full game to flame, whatever works for you.

What kind of asshole states any kind of opinion without playing the full game? Dante-Must-Die Mode doesn't really count either, its a fucking gimmick. Rest of the modes, still easy. Older ones where way more challenging.

I've been away all this week on a business trip and have this game waiting for me when I get home.

I hope it's not as dumbed down as Fernando and a few others claim it to be or I'm gonna be pissed.

I'll probably still enjoy it though since I'm a DMC fan in general. I also hope NG2 isn't dumbed down.

Why does everything have to be so "ACCESSABLE" all of a sudden? It's like game companies feel like they need to train the noobs and then in a few years games will get tough again?

As someone who has played all the DMC games (and promptly returned 2, luckily having picked it up used from GS. yay money back.) I'm happy with the difficulty levels.

Easy is easy, as it should be. When you're selecting "Human" as the difficulty it specifically says that its for people new to Devil May Cry.

"Devil Hunter" (aka normal) is a decent challenge. You probably won't die fighting regular enemies, but the bosses might get you. The challenge here is more against avoiding the hit that will ruin your combo. It feels a touch easier than 3 on normal, maybe along the lines of 3SE, but...

(spoilers-ish just in case you don't want to know the bosses)

...the boss fights against Agnus and the second against Dante really kicked my ass a few times. I decided to do a burn through easy mode up to where I was on normal to get the cash for a vital star or two.

(end non-spoilers)

DMC4 is a dissapointment.
Not even rentable. Shame.
I will wait for NinjaGaiden2.

Capcom can keep their purple haired huge sword characters and theyre stand perfectly still enemies waiting to be hit.

Why do fanboys love this game?
If this is next gen then I want no part of it.

Its all hype, the demo sucked, they should have kept it as ps3 exclusive, they could have made a good game then.
