Twisted Metal PS3 revealed in hidden code
69
Sure enough, "buried deep" (well, not that deep) within Twisted Metal: Head On - Extra Twisted Edition is the answer to every Metal head's burning headache, er, desire: METAL IS COMING ON PSTHREE. The code, embedded in the game's "Dark Past" documentary as a series of numbers, ensures the franchise will take at least one more victory lap before puttering into uncertainty. Just how Jaffe and company plan to overhaul the oh-so-90s motif, remains the one, true secret. May we suggest going hybrid?

I agree, I just don't see the comparisons. Mario Kart, you get what you pick up. That's all. Also, I never cared for Mario Kart.
Twisted Metal, you get so much more offensively. You get the pick ups, environmental offensive abilities, and let's not forget inertia and specials. On top of hidden areas or environmental modifications. And since Twisted Metal 2 (the original) had a multiplayer mode which counts damage inflicted rather than kills, it wipes all the kill stealing aspects of the original.

Not a fan of the minimal skill involved in later Mario Kart editions (I'll still pop in the SNES original and play with the girlfriend once in a while though). While Mario Kart has its place, I'm really looking forward to a next gen Twisted Metal. If online is like Warhawk, should be lots of fun.
On a side note, I read these comments by Fernando and want him banned too, but then every once in a while he'll make a really witty comment like when he responded if someone was asking his name when talking about trolling, etc, and it makes it so hard to hate him.

I heard from a reliable source that the new PS3 game will be called Twisted Metal: Head On - Apply Directly to the Forehead.

I bought a ps3 with the hope that eventually a twisted metal game would arrive.
tm1 was the reason I bought a psx.

Except Mario Kart hasn't been good since the snes/n64 versions. Twisted Metal Black and Head On were fucking awesome though, head on even had some great online play.
On a side note, Fernando should be banned.

They haven't been good? Something is wrong with you. The games (barring Double Dash) have been excellent examples of balancing and replayability. With charming characters and settings and catchy music. They always score well in reviews too and have longevity in sales.
So don't try and sound cool by hating something that's popular. It's quite weak.

Skill? What kind of crack are you on? There are skilled MK players to be sure (i.e. those people that can snake around an entire course), but MK also caters to lesser players by giving them better items when behind. What makes you think that TM, which is straight up deathmatch, doesn't take any skill? You would get your ass handed to you the best TM players.

Metal is soooo last century. I predict we'll see TWISTED PLASTIC! Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

Am I the only person who gets the feeling that nobody else would be mentioning TM's "90s" style if not for this post's author doing so first?
It can't be stressed enough that Twisted Metal is a great series with a few blemishes (thanks to 989 studios). Twisted Metal: Black was my favorite PS2 game for the longest time -- it truly felt next-gen. And Twisted Metal: Head-On will be the only reason I dig my PS2 out of the box I'm currently storing it in.

what the f*ck does Mario Kart have to do with Twisted Metal??
i mean, are we not gamers? why can't we enjoy *BOTH??
i remember enjoying Twisted Metal back in the day in high school, and i also remember enjoying Mario Kart back in the day.
i may not be much of a fan of either these days, but that doesn't mean i hate them.
if the TM on the PS3 is as fun as the others (personally, i would have preferred Sony putting Eat, Sleep, Play to work on a PS3 War of the Monsters game), i'll give it a shot.
i mean, must every Playstation 3 related story turn into a flamewar about Nintendo does *EVERYTHING "better?"
seriously guys (and by "guys" i mean, Fernando, you obnoxious, annoying prick), the series aren't even the same. and both do what they do well: deliver a fun, multi-player experience to the players of both.
both games are fun to whip out when friends are over and have a blast for a little bit before you go hang out or something.

I guess I was one of the few who liked TM 3 the best. The game had so many new people and the game just ran smoother instead of it being jerky/choppy like the 1st and 2nd.
