Just because your level of intellect to understand the game only compares to the intellect needed to enjoy dragon ball z with with screaming throughout a whole episode and using energy balls to blow up the world, doesn't mean that applies to everyone ¬_¬

I suggest you stick to 'shoot to kill' brain dead games if reading is not your thing.

OH. MY. GOD.

I really can't believe you pulled that card on me. If there's one group of people who seriously need to die in this world, it's people who believe that their "intelligence" is measured by what they watch(like Evangelion fans).

Please. I watch DBZ because I find it entertaining, which is the same reason why you like MGS. Because it's entertaining. Not because you have a "high intelligence" but only because you find it interesting. If you seriously think liking Metal Gear Solid makes you a smarter person than me, I'd advise you set fire to your computer.

Who said anything about liking something because its intelligent, I simply said, you can't enjoy the storyline, because you don't understand it. Nuff said. Besides, you haven't even mentioned any of the PSP games, simply because you haven't played it, and you claimed you liked MGS3, so basically what you're doing is basing your dislike of the game upon MGS2 and 1, both of which happen to be the most successful of the series, even more so then 3.

All I can say is that brain capacity or understanding often disallows us to enjoy what might otherwise be an incredible storyline ^^ Lmao

But you have to admit, DBZ, which enjoyable to look at, often uses little or no logic. Girls not allowed to be Saiyens? Blonde and blue eyes to be a Saiyen? Balds can't be Saiyens? Long hair like Sonic makes you the strongest fighter? Tight latex costumes to fight in? Coming back from heaven? Freeza being a , urm, not entirely sure... I mean come ooooonnn, thats the reason I stopped watching DBZ, it was getting quirky. lol

Being quirky is one of the things I like most about MGS. Snake going up against giant mechs and cyborg ninjas is more entertaining than Sam Fisher shooting North Koreans or whatever. It would lose much of it's appeal for me if it didn't have a crazy storyline.

SC: Conviction, by the way, is looking better and will hopefully break from that garbage and get a better story. I like the idea of him going up against American troops/agents while on the run.

But thats what makes MGS fun, while the storyline is in fact well written, Snake doesn't always face humans, he also gets put up against other beings like Vamp and technology all kinds, this gives gamers something different. This is why I said it was an all rounder, its not all based on stealth like SC, and has its action moments too where you have to take down someone.

But the best part is the moments and time spent messing about rather then getting on with missions, you deliberately get your self seen or do something stupid, just so you can get chased and hide somewhere. Put some porno down for the guards to see, or something else completely nuts. SC has its moments, but you don't often get as many chances as you do in MGS to take cover, annoyingly, making moments that would have been fun too serious, gaming isn't meant to be so serious, if we wanted that, we'd do chores. ¬_¬

My possible favorite part was the giant screen in MGS2 where all the soldiers were training and you had to sneak past them all, walk in front of the projection, and it was quite humorous. No other game I can think of at this exact moment apart from GTA and Timesplitters has this many laughs and enjoyable quirky moments to keep the spirit lifted.

Its OK, Vegeta. US DBZ fans on the internet are like Christians on the internet, perpetually hated, perpetually misunderstood.

They're just mad because they know, deep down, that DBZ is far more awesome than they could ever hope to be.

DBZ is gay, lol, no LITERALLY gay, what other anime has men tensing their muscles and screaming like in bed throughout a whole episode, or transsexual alien races, or an entire race made up of men laying eggs (rather disturbing, lol), latex or rubber costumes.

Lol, Pink blobs or anger, usually red or something, no powerful women except Pan. Lol, nothing against gays, but that anime is extremely disturbing.

Isn't Akira Toryama gay? That would explain why there's homosexual overtones.

But if all you can see in DBZ is that, then there's something wrong with you, not me.

That said, I enjoyed original Dragonball and DBGT more than Z.

Let's go back to your original statement:

"Just because your level of intellect to understand the game only compares to the intellect needed to enjoy dragon ball z with with screaming throughout a whole episode and using energy balls to blow up the world, doesn't mean that applies to everyone ¬_¬"

"suggest you stick to 'shoot to kill' brain dead games if reading is not your thing."

So yeah, so not only did you insult my choice in shows(because people who like DBZ can't possibly understand the complexities of MGS amirite?) but you basically insulted my own intelligence simply because I didn't agree that Kojima is god of all gaming. So what If DBZ is simplistic? I'm not going to lie, it is. but who says I can't enjoy it? The fact that it doesn't try to make itself "deep" and "meaningful" is one of the reasons why I like it. It's straight forward action. And that's why even now I still like it. You're right, what I said doesn't apply to everyone, but the same goes for you too.

"Besides, you haven't even mentioned any of the PSP games, simply because you haven't played it, and you claimed you liked MGS3."
And you' point? Yes because I liked MGS3, I should happily give my money to sony for a psp just so I could play one fucking title. My reasons for not buying is this, it doesn't have the games I want. Unlike some people, I don't impulsively go, "OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODIT'SMETALGEARSOLIDTAKEMMYMONEYSONY!!!"

For me to buy any hardware it must have a library of games I want. This reason alone is why i don't have a ps3.

"what you're doing is basing your dislike of the game upon MGS2 and 1, both of which happen to be the most successful of the series, even more so then 3."
And your point? I should retract what I say about them simply because they make alot of money? That's like saying I should stop saying shit about Transformers: The movie since it was successful. I really don't care how much those game have made. The fact is, I found MGS1 to be meh and MGS2 to be, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT(mostly because I actually screamed that out when I finished the game) and I said previously before I found MGS3 to be the most interesting and fun out of the three main titles(though that does not mean I'm going to cream myself whenever Kojima comes out with a game. While I liked the game, it's not even close to my all time favorites.)

I'm just going to skip the last part of what you wrote before the dbz otaku in me flips out and starts raging all over the place.

Look what I said is my opinion and my opinion along. The fact is, I'm not impressed with Kojima's story telling at all. That doesn't mean I don't have the brain capacity to enjoy it, it just means I don't like it because it's obvious we both have different tastes. Now I don't mind if you disagree with my views and wish to argue about it. That's fine, that's why we're hear. But what you did was insult me on something that has absolutely nothing to do with this topic simply because I didn't agree with your views.

I didn't even read this part until just now. And you're calling US stupid? You don't even understand that Sayian is a "RACE" of people (an alien race, actually), with male and females; SUPER Sayians have blonde hair and blue eyes, but ONLY when powered up, Nappa was a Sayian (and was bald); Latex costumes? WTF are you talking about? Coming back from heaven actually gave you problems? You seriously don't understand the concept of a soul, and that soul coming back for a visit on earth?

And somehow We're the stupid ones? It seems blatantly obvious that you weren't even smart enough to comprehend DBZ. I guess MGS storyline should be cake to "get" for us DBZ fans, if we're using you as the point of reference.

I was once a dedicated fan of DBZ, until I realized I was growing out of it. Maybe defying the laws of logic was what it was meant to achieve, and good on the producers, I guess, but storyline wise, it wasn't enough to stimulate my mind, it was like an FPS, fight after fight after fight, and for me, too much of the same old things gets boring.

I know Saiyen/sayan/saian/say-yen is a race ¬_¬ I just found the show to be questionable at times.

As for the cultured thing, thats laughable, watching DBZ and knowing its based on myth is about as cultured as knowing the that the Chinese dragon is actually Chinese. Being cultured means you make an effort to understand the country and everything surrounding it. That expands far outside the world of DBZ.

It also means you have to visit the country, spend time in it and understand its history. I've been to Japan, I am learning their language and yup, I'm studying their history. Being cultured has nothing to do with fictional energy blasts you saw in DBz, its about the things that ARE happening, the things that HAVE happened.

I can't say I'm cultured because I saw something in a Hollywood movie that applied to America, I would have to visit America, try to understand it, and I have. I've been to more places in America then some Americans. That still doesn't make me fully cultured, being there is just the first step, meeting interesting and amazing American people is the second step, and having that desire to learn more about America is the third step. The same applies to all countries.

DBZ is just an anime, much like MGS is just a game, both have nothing at all to do with culture.

"both have nothing at all to do with culture."

Now THAT is a laughable stance to have. Fiction and Media have EVERYTHING to do with culture. Understanding dragonball, rather, being ABLE to understand dragonball, all the different religious and cultural references that it draws upon does makes you cultured, not just watching it. A cultured person is someone who looks at art, and understands it from varying angles of history and societal impact. The fact that all you see in DBZ is "Gay dudes screaming at each other" shows just how UN-cultured you are. You can still hate it and understand it, and be cultured. You hate it because you DON'T understand it.

Culture has nothing to do with what anime you like, how many people watch anime, how many people actually know or care where it originated. All these non-cultured people watch it because they like it, not because they care where it came from.

Its like gaming, a Halo gamer or a MGS gamer picks up MGS, how many gamers know that MGS came from Japan, and out of that number of people who do, how many care about Japan, and out of those people that do care, how many have taken it upon themselves to learn about Japanese culture beyond DBZ and MGS, and out of all those people, how many have or at least want to visit Japan. Don't tell me media is culture, media is only a minor part of culture, if you have no profound interest in the country, then you can watch all the DBZ episodes you want, whether or not you know energy blasts (whoopty-doo) are part of Japanese fiction, much like the Grendall is part of British fiction or the Loch Ness is part of Scottish fiction, or the Chinese dragon is part of Chinese fiction does not make you cultured.

Many people take on the 'ignorance is bliss' attitude and never make the effort to see beyond their front garden, people who have that gift, are the ones that are cultured. Culture is not sitting down and watching TV, or catching up on anime, any tom, dick and harry can watch DBZ, does that mean the moment I tell them energy blasts are part of Japanese fiction, they are cultured? Rubbish. Believe me, you'd be more cultured if you took a trip to China town or something.

Until you show me that your knowledge of the country expands beyond DBZ and the fact you know it came from Japan, only then will I believe you are well cultured. Because whether or not I am a fan of MGS and know it came from Japan is so small an insignificant, a Japanese person would laugh at me if I went to their country and told them that that was all I knew about Japan.

No the reason why people are bitching about it being overhyped is because:

1. the first game wasn't that impressive(actually it was very mediocre)

2. For some reason it has risen to, "savior of the ps3" status along with MGS4 and FF13 because it looks pretty.

Dude, MGS1 is a classic. It has risen to 'savior' as you call it because there is yet to be an MGS game to let us down, go and look at the ratings for the MGS series, there is yet to be one to score badly. It is one of the PS' top selling games amongst others such as GT and GTA.

MGS has since birth been over to Nintendo and Xbox, and now smash brothers, give me one reason MGS should be any less a 'savior' to that of Halo or Smash brothers?

FF is a successful RPG series, its no wonder its hyped.

err...Vegeta, that is far from true...

1) The first one wasn't impressive? I found it really fun to play...not only that, but the ps2 wasn't able to handle it, and many have found a huge improvement when the game is played on a PS3 (sorry 40gb owners)

2) Just because being pretty? what the hell? its because of what the devs have shown thus far, including gameplay mechanic, physics, extra content, and story...not just because of "pretty graphics"....

yah, go ahead, show a bunch of programmers killzone 2 and any other game out there...then you'll see why the game is being "WOW'ED" everywhere...

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a fan of FPS's so I won't be buying it, so save your words

@Noshino

I have to disagree with you. Kill-Zone was incredibly mediocre, especially since by the time I got my hands on it, I already had played Halo.

Now with Kill Zone 2. I just don't find it all that impressive. I'll commend Guerilla Games for making a believable worn-torn atmosphere, but really that's all it has going for it. The graphics(though I'll say for now because there is a chance that GG could show us something that does make this title stand out) one of the few things that stood out to me was the unremarkable enemy AI. In many of the video demonstration I saw, the main character would bump into a bunch of Helghast soldiers(who, even though I don't really care about the game that much, look bad-ass) and instead of doing absolutely every thing they can to survive, they literally stare down the players gun and basically let him shoot them down. In this day and age that is pretty unimpressive.

Of course I also understand that could be fixed before the actual game releases, and I'm still open to the idea that it can surprise me with something that will make me go, "oh shit." But for now, I remain meh about the game.

Had DMC remained exclusive, it would not have been given half the credit it is getting now. This is the logical thinking of gamers ¬_¬

Does it matter what console the game is on? If its good, its good, if its bad its bad, if you don't like the game, tough.

Suddenly statistics jump in to make the game seem less significant or something. or just make gamers sound like they suddenly know what they are talking about or have the incredible abilities to predict the future. The game may or may not do as well as Resistance, which is currently the best selling PS3 game, if it does, kudos to Konami, if it doesn't its simply because the game sucks or isn't as fun, which means had it gone to 360, while it would have gotten more sales, it would do just as bad, no more successful, no less successful, just as bad in ratings and gameplay.

MGS4 isn't hyped, thats a joke, its the idiotic fanboys spreading rumors that it may or may not go multiplat that has raised its status quo. Nothing more, nothing less. Look, if it does go multiplat, well done, its not the end of the world, and if it does, know that the reason it has gone multiplat is because it just wasn't a good game, so had little or no sales, even Uncharted has 1 million now, whats stopping MGS4? If it doesn't go multiplat, button the lips and buy a PS3 to play it, or just stick with your console, your loss. Full stop.

I bought the original PS for MGS (I didn't even care about video games before that), I waited to get a PS2 until MGS2 came out, and I will finally buy a PS3 when MGS4 comes out.

I'm sure there are a fair amount of people that will do the same or buy the console when GTA comes out. Combine that with the looming price drop and MGS4 will easily sell 1 million copies. Not on day 1, but it will in a fairly short amount of time.

Fanboy wars aside, I'm very excited for this game and genuinely respect Konami for hiring on an American to help add some usability to the fucked up control schemes of the previous 3 outings.

I'll even give them some protips to get them started:
1)The southern-most button on the controller is the 'ok' button, the eastern-most is the 'cancel' button. That's the way it is for pretty much every other game except Metal Gear.
2)It shouldn't take 3 buttons to successfully shoot someone in a game. Sure, I can spray and pray with the square button, but we all know how that works out. Simplify.
3)Fix the stand/squat/prone button. I don't care how, just fix it.

Do these things, and you'll have a happy customer!
