Puzzle Quest sequel cited in D3 press release, coming 2008
Last year's Puzzle Quest was a surprise hit/addiction that eventually landed on every platform in existence. So it's with little shock that a recent press release from D3 Publisher, which announced Adam Roberts as the new European Managing Director, mentioned a forthcoming sequel to the game due out this year.
The revelation is found in the last sentence of the release, "The company will also be releasing video games based on Aardman's popular Shaun the Sheep character in 2008, alongside the eagerly-awaited follow-ups to the best-selling Ben 10 and Puzzle Quest." Wait a second, more Ben 10 and Shaun the Sheep, too? O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! We've contacted D3 for a statement.

"Fire is your greatest ally when fighting a Minotaur!"
I have that quote memorised for just the occasion.

This helps soften the blow of having no Peggle on the DS greatly.

I have the first one on the DS, though I wish I had waited and gotten the XBL version, it was still a fun little portable distraction. I'm just not sure where I should pick this one up, as it'll probably be released across all systems.
I guess it depends on how it looks on each, and how the online integration is. Decisions, decisions.

I had a copy of Puzzle Quest for the Wii in my hand the other day, debating how I would justify buying it for another platform when I've already got the DS version. I decided no, I didn't need to own the same game on two platforms. So I consoled myself and celebrated my financial pragmatism with a copy of Zack & Wiki.

I've said this on other places, but I think that, rather than being a direct sequel (.e., Puzzle Quest 2), what they're actually referring to as being a "follow up" to Puzzle Quest is Galactrix: http://www.infinite-interactive.com/galactrix.php

I have the PC *AND* DS version (the latter's for work). I am a total shameless Quest whore and if they expand the story options according to classes, I may not play another game for the next year.
