This week's podcast, besides being a day late, is marred by a completely bizarre test of the PSP Skype system about midway through, which the government has officially ordered that you not listen to (especially if you're pregnant). yes I know i could do that, but then its not in my Podcast area of iTunes, and it doesn't save its place if I play music or turn of the iPod etc.

Try it now, should be all better.

I also added in a fancy embedded audio player if anyone wants to use that.

I'm almost positive you have to close iTunes and open it again... works for me every time:D

Awesome... was starting to wonder if there was going to be no podcast this week because of (hopefully) an abundance of podcasts for GDC.

PS - Still hoping for a video 'cast at GDC. Any chance of that happening?

Also Chris, if you sell your items, to anyone selling items, for currency instead of omni-gel it actually places your worst items on the top of the inventory list :-) just a couple things to help you out.

Why do so many people not get it...

1) The "rank" next to your name is not used in matchmaking, your rank is just a RP element for weapons unlocking, that's all. CoD4 uses Microsoft's TruSkill system for matchmaking.

2) If you want to be in a lobby with people, you must get together before the host/leader of the room starts searching for a game. Anyone joining after that is in the lobby playing with you, but not in your party.

Oh no, I "get it" -- but would you agree that chances are someone who has unlocked 45 levels in the game is better than someone who has unlocked 4?

And I also understand the tenets of the lobby system - the problem is the system is nowhere near as flexible or customizable as Halo's.

I'm starting a Griffin McElroy club.

Skype with odd objects (PSP, N95) on podcasts is always good for a laugh.

Awesome podcast yet again, guys. Atlantis Skype call + Griffin = Totally sweet.

I'm loving the idea of listener guests. Now you can ridicule us right to our faces (ears?) instead of just making fun of how we type our emails.

@ Christopher Grant i dont think that having gone prestige all ten times makes you any better at the game than a new starting player because all the weapons in the game can be balanced out by something else.if you are a starting player that just bought the game use the m16 with the grenade launcher aka the noob toob. it is really effective in getting kills when you first start out.also another reason i recemond the m16 is because it has the best accuracy of all the beginning assult rifles.and it will give you better aim because it is only a 3 round burst insted of holding down the rt on your controller on the ak47 and hoping for the best.

wait... the intro said this was episode 38? whups?

anyway, I havent seen what the psp headset looks like really, so my mental image on what chris's 50$ worth of acsessories was... amusing

I have never been more depressed from listening to a Podcast until minute 20 when McElroy said to open a .xls file to get new release list. The reason for this is that I was looking at about 8 spread sheets at work thinking that I could handle no more when he said that.

Jeez! You're right. It's been fixed.

Chris, I'm inclined to agree with you on most wrestling games today...EXCEPT Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. It's the best 15 bucks I've ever spent on a game. Basically, if it has happened on a wrestling mat in the past 100 years, it's in the game. It's customizable to the point to where you can create pretty much any wrestler in the history of the 'sport', which sort of ties in with Justin's comments about increased customization abilities.

You can have your WWE games. Give me the game that I can pit Koko B Ware against Goldberg in. With Fire Pro, it's not so much the game itself, but the fact that I can relive part of my childhood with Demolition vs Hart Foundation matches.

Chris, this is your 2nd week playing Mass Effect. Just go to a vendor and sell everything from the top down (keep pressing A) until you reach levels of stuff close to what you're using. Another tip: sell by manufacturers, as crap like Elanus, Ekloss, Hadne go straight to omni-gel for me once Devlon, etc. start to drop.

Are we sure that was really Griffin? or is that how Justin sounds when he has no M&M's in his mouth?

Just wanted to add that my sentiments go towards the Indian cricket team as well, as they beat back English imperialism in the hit Bollywood movie Lagaan.

until this podcast i thought Griffin and Justin McElroy were different aliases for the same person. in fact, i'm still not sure whether they're different people or whether some swift garage band editing took place....
