Does joystiq not know that the demo is on the PSN marketplace. I know its developed piss poor and has a very terrible layout and is terribly non-user friendly, but I'm sure you could find the demo after a few hours.

Honestly, why doesnt sony redo the psn thing, its just using the web browser to display it, please SONY FIX THE MARKETPLACE!

See, the reason 10,000 kills in Gears was so time consuming is because of the fact that a better than average player would get ~10-12 kills per game. So getting to 10,000 kills took a VERY long time.

Now if you look at a game like COD4, a good player can get 20-30 kills a round on average, so getting to 10,000 kills doesn't take long at all. If this game is arcadey enough and has enough people playing in each round then getting to 10,001 kills could actually be a relatively easy thing.

My 2 cents.

Even 10,000 kills in COD4 is hard1

Now, catching the Dragon in Heroin Hero, that's an easier challenge, and i'm almost there!

Now for a meaningful reply.

I agree with you in that but getting 10,000 in Gears of war was also difficult because:

A) Your kills are only counted in Ranked matches. In games like Team Fortress 2 and even Undertow they count you all your kills no matter which mode you are playing, even single player.
B) Your kills only counted if you finished the match .This is just ridiculous how many kills Gears didn’t count because the host was a f@g and he disconnected by the last round, extremely infuriating.
C) You can only get a maximum number of kills and the matches can last forever.
D) The game doesn’t counts the kills you get in Anex.

Is safe to say even in Halo getting 10,000 kills isn’t going to take you more than few months, in Gears unless you are PWnzord Mcownage is going to take forever and there aren’t really that many maps and waiting for a match is just plain boring.

I think comparisons between The Club and Gears of War are quite offensive because:

a) The Club is a much better game than Gears of War
b) The Club's level designers actually like making interesting levels, whereas Gears of War was set in a land of browns and greys.
c) The Club's multiplayer mode is not littered with children who shouldn't be playing the game

I'm finding the negative press this game is getting quite bewildering. It's from BIZARRE CREATIONS everyone! That's the team that made the best game of 2007 - Project Gotham Racing 4. I hope that when this does get a US release people buy it. It really deserves your money.

Because PGR4 was better than Super Mario Galaxy, CoD4, Mass Effect, etc...

PGR4 was a good game, but by no means was it the best game of 2007.

Because a game that hasn't come out yet which you haven't actually played is better than a game which has been out for a very long time, has won several awards, and has a metacritic rating of 94.

Those are some seriously loaded opinions, but I will say that I hope people go into The Club with the right expectations - a skill-based action game that really plays more like Tony Hawk than Gears of War. What I played in the demo was absolutely fantastic, but I wasn't expecting the next great epic shooter.

This is gonna be hard without anyone to actually kill online when the game finally launches. No, srsly though the only reason the Gears of War one was hard is because one had to play Ranked matches. And ranked matches were so fucked in Gears, one person leaves and the whole game ends. I just didn't put up with that shit. In fact on my current tag I haven't even played a single ranked match.

I think you people are missing the point that it's giving a "nod" to Gears of Wars, not ripping the game off entirely. But just so I can be like you guys, "Wow, they so stole this from Gears of War! How creative!"

So when Gear of War 2 comes out you are going to have to get 10,002 kills to unlock the achievement point lol.

i find it hard to believe anyone will play that abomination online, let alone kids.

"I'm finding the negative press this game is getting quite bewildering"

couldn't be because the game sucks could it? no not at all. Did you even play the demo? It's miserably bad. You gotta be very easy to please if you're that hyped about The Club. Oh that's right, you think PGR4 was the best game from last year so you must be pretty easy to please.

Damn right I have that achievement. 200 kills a day =) It DOESNT take THAT long. You just have to be skilled as fuck ;) It also gives you a sweet ass Marcus Fenix gamerpic. If I see someone with that pic online I usually give them props.

have you guys played the demo? The game doesn't have a plot, at all. it's a gears arcade shooter, the only thing missing are the crazy weapons. and you stroll through the levels racking up combos. If they're online multiplayer is the same way it will be annoying to play, since everyone will be trying to rack up combos they're will be deaths ever other second.

Now I'm just a Wii gamer who has very little experience in the online/achievement world of gaming. But it seems to me that "achievements" should be just that: achievements. They should be something that you say to your friend one day when he's over playing a game with you like, "hey, one time I [insert incredibly time consuming/hard thing to do in the game you are currently playing]" and then he says, "No way" and you show him the achievement and he says, "wow, you have no life." If the Wii ever got achievements (Nintendo forbid), I would want them to be more like Chromehounds and less like Avatar. But hey, that's just a Wii gamer's two cents.

Chrome Hounds and Avatar are two massive extremes. Most games are somewhere in the middle. In fact, I don't own a game that has ridiculous achievements or stupidly easy ones either. Easiest was probably Bioshock, and the "Brass Balls" one wasn't a cake walk...

I wonder if you'll be able to glitch this achievement like Gears? That would show a true nood to the game.

xFenixKnightx--"It also gives you a sweet ass Marcus Fenix gamerpic. If I see someone with that pic online I usually give them props."

That Fenix gamerpic was offered for free for 24 hours when Gears was launched. I got about 10 friends, (me included), who have the gamerpic but not the seriously achievement.
