Rumor: Ace Combat 6 landing on PS3 in 2008?

According to magazine PSM3, Ace Combat 6 is coming to PS3. Ace Combat, one of the most prestigious flight-sim franchises, had been a PlayStation mainstay for several years, but recently became a 360 "exclusive" in its 6th iteration.

Was this a magazine slip-up? Or is a subtle confirmation of the game's existence? The rumor mill is buzzing: Ace Combat 6 on PS3 in 2008. This would make sense, as exclusivity deals tend to fade away after a year or two, and the series has always been a PlayStation title in years past. It's still just a rumor, so we'll keep our fingers crossed and let you know if we get any new information.

Would be good to see AC back on the PlayStation brand. For all we know AC5 was just a stop-gap "get an ac game out there pronto" game, and their timeliness would have been compromised for multiplatform development.

In either case I think we can all agree that a PS3 exclusive AC6 would vastly outsell AC5. :)

The timing is about right, not a permanent exclusive but long enough on the 360 to help their sales a little in Japan. It's probably about the same amount of time that MGS4 will be exclusive on the PS3.

If you think MGS4 will come to the 360 think again friend lol

I'm saying all of o8 and half 09 for ps3 mgs4 but konami will have sumtin up there sleeve 4 ps3 just watch

If by all means, you want it, you should have it. But have fun switching out the 4 odd disks you're going to need for it.

Ace Combat was a 360 timed exclusive. I think it was always going to come out on PS3.

I wonder if it will come with a big install? And whether people want to hold their breath and turn blue over it, you'll see MGS4 on 360 after several months or a year, this gen is too much money to make any game not made by a 1st party not to be multi-platform. Sony exec. in this months issue of EGM even states in his own words that "Haze is a timed exclusive" so even Haze will go to P.C. and 360. Fanboys kill games for everyone that's why I will never love just one system, just the games.

Haze is indeed a ps3 exclusive.

If it ever arrives that is.

I have the 360 version of AC6, and it's ok. I have to admit, I was way more impressed with the Hori flightstick that's included in the bundled version. It's one of the most well built flight controllers I've used. If they offer the bundle on the PS3, the flightstick is worth picking up.

This is just how Beautiful Katamari was, and Eternal Sonata. Announced as exclusives but really not. But unlike MGS4, these games will come to the PS3, because all of these games were supposed to do good in Japan, and none did.

The real kicker is that said games will probably have a smashing debut on PS3. The Japan contingent really takes "brand loyalty" to a whole new level since the Xbox brand tanks even when given games tailored to their region/culture.

Ace combat is rubbish anyway. Cutscenes look good, but gameplay is pants. 360 can keep it.

If you're a big fan of the series then prepare to be disappointed. Its a rental at best.

Who really gives a shit at this point? I have it for 360 and it was horrible. Probably the worst game in the series.
