IGF finalist Audiosurf available for pre-purchase on Steam
Independent Games Festival award finalist, Audiosurf, is now available for pre-purchase on Valve's Steam service. Constantly trying to shake off the "rhythm", "racing" and "puzzle" genre labels we attempt to stick on it, Audiosurf generates three-dimensional tracks out of your music collection, enabling you to "surf" through your favorite tunes while collecting colored blocks.
Audiosurf will launch on February 15th at the price of $9.95 (pre-purchasing saves you 10%), and will include the soundtrack to Valve's The Orange Box. You haven't experienced "Still Alive" quite like this yet, have you?

I'm kind of curious as to what kind of levels these bands could create...

I don't know if I should get this as I already have a client that allows me to play the beta offline and forever.
Seraphim @ Feb 11th 2008 8:01PM
The beta doesn't have achievements, the beta doesn't have content-updates, and the BETA doesn't support Dylan's awesome game.
Support INDIE! Please? :-)
Dustin @ Feb 11th 2008 7:37PM
I played quite a bit of the beta for Audiosurf, and it's a damn fine game. I hope it's successful!
Jhongerkong @ Feb 11th 2008 7:42PM
This game is awesome when playing Pluto Relinquish in the background.
zkey14 @ Feb 11th 2008 7:55PM
Nine measly dollars. Anyone who's even remotely interested in this and does not give it try is a Shia LaBeouf.
Hope this helps.

To be honest I'd rather get Garry's Mod. I hear that's quite good.
This game looks nice but at the same time it looks like freeware.
Isaac @ Feb 11th 2008 8:04PM
Do want.
AlexxelA @ Feb 11th 2008 8:06PM

this looks sweet!
HighFiveJesus @ Feb 11th 2008 8:23PM
I played it a bit, its fun. Unfortunately it sucks if you listen to the wrong kind of music. I didn't get a chance but i think it'd be very fun on The Mars Volta.
mr nimblewick @ Feb 11th 2008 8:30PM
I would play it on my ipod.

i was thinkin my PSP but you sir have the right idea. playing games with my music (ala beats and Phase) is so much fun since i have so much on there to choose from. and at least in beats, the button sequence is never the same even on the same difficulty. ultimate replay-ability.
Joseph @ Feb 11th 2008 8:42PM
I want to play with Flight of the Bumblebee.

Isn't this the same game that was in the unlockxbox.com contest. It didn't win, but it's the same game. Big flying tube based on music.
Crazylink @ Feb 11th 2008 10:07PM
Actually, Still Alive was one of the first songs I played in the beta.
INotI @ Feb 11th 2008 10:20PM
I would really love to see an IGF finalist compilation on Steam. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
Pharmacy @ Feb 12th 2008 12:02AM
This game looks really cool... but is it fun? I really want it to be but after watching a video I'm not convinced. If anyone could enlighten me I'd really appreciate it
James @ Feb 12th 2008 4:12PM
Screw it. I prepurchased. Garry's mod will wait till my next gaming spazm.
toycommander @ Feb 20th 2008 9:54PM
Just bought it on Steam. This game makes listening to your favorite songs better. Or put another way, the game reveals things about your favorite songs that maybe you didn't notice before. Fun stuff.
toycommander @ Feb 20th 2008 9:57PM
It also has the leader board, which is cool way to not only compare scores, but to see who, if anybody, listens to the same music as you do.
