DS version of Spore titled 'Spore Creatures' [update]

Update: EA has clarified that the DS version will be called Spore Creatures, while the mobile game will retain the original title -- just Spore.Though it may share half a name with the "everything but the kitchen sink, but also, probably, a kitchen sink" sim Spore, you've probably already guessed that the DS and mobile versions of the game are going to be drastically different than its big brother. In an interview with Newsweek released today, Maxis' Lucy Bradshaw, gave some idea of what would be shed to get the game onto handhelds.
In short, the game's been designed from the ground up for the smaller platforms, eschewing all but the creature creation portion of the game. It's even adapted a different art style based on Japanese flat rod puppets (one of our top three favorite kinds of Japanese puppets). The mobile phone version pulls the zoom in even tighter, focusing only on the cell phase of Spore. 1) ATT's Spore (Mobile) - "We WUB you little creature..... NOW WE HATE YOU DIAF!!!..... we kinda wan't you back *agressive takeover*"
2) Sony's Spore (Mobile) - "You rock so hard little cell... if only i could think of something you could do other than sit there..."
3) The Wii Rulz, the DS Rulz, F Sony in the A....
That third one wasn't so mucha bout spore mobile....

I could make a joke that the Wii itself is dated, but what kind of Wii owner would that make me?
Suffice it to say, I don't think anyone expect a full fledged Spore experience for mobile.

I'm probably going to get flamed but personally I don't expect a full fledged Spore experience for a console altogether.Anyone who played Sims 2 for Xbox will know what I mean.

So, if the cell phase of Spore is designed after Pac-Man, and they're releasing a variation of Spore on phones that features only the cell phase... then basically they're just releasing Pac-Man and calling it Spore Creatures.
I would make fun of that but Joystiq holds great anger against those whom would mock Pac-Man.

Dont you mean the DS7000... I think we'll be on that by the time Spore comes out... Also, food may FINALY stop falling out your mouth.
