Wow...the CVG article headline is really slanted against the PS3.

Interesting stuff though. Quick, everyone look shocked that the PS3 can't run the game as good as a spec-ed out PC.

CVG have always been against the PS3 - they hate it. They're MS/Nintendo fanboys with a passion.

This sounds promising for sure. I'm really looking forward to this game title and plan to buy it as soon as it hits the street.
Too bad Sony choose just to include 256MB (board) + 256MB (GPU) memory in the PS3. Memory chips ain't that expensive after all. The Xbox 360 got 512MB RAM, shared with the GPU, which allows the software developers to either store high resolutions textures or buffer more content, depending on what the game [engine] needs. That's a pretty nice concept. Say a game needs a big world, with lots of object but with low resolution textures... then perhaps the game need more than 256MB RAM but less than 256MB VRAM... well, yeah, either way. This is how it is, and we've already seen proof that it works out quite well for the PS3.

The RSX in the PS3 can still share memory. Plus there are lots of tricks to avoid using all 256MB of that video memory. Procedural texturing for one...

@Popfrogs
Where's your source? I've not been able to find any information about the PS3's RSX chip sharing memory with the system.
If it's true, then I think we'll have greater titles as soon as the developers learn to multi-thread their games better.

Wouldn't CVG just have to changed the title?...

They're such morons.

Anyway, good news for FarCry 2.

You may say this a is a biased article, because of it's headline.
But surely the first people to want to read a negative story are those who purchased a rival bit of hardware or have something against Sony. So it baits them in to the topic. It is better than a positive title turning out to be negative feedback.

Also it was a headline and article from PSM3.
