It was a tad controversial when Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation was announced as an Xbox 360 exclusive. After all, Namco Bandai's Ace Combat series had cut its teeth on Sony's consoles for years. Now, however, the title might return to familiar territory, as UK-based PSM3 Magazine is reporting on the development of Ace Combat 6 on PS3.
According to a brief blurb in the magazine, Ace Combat 6 is scheduled for release later this year, and will feature online co-op. The blurb also mentions that the title will include its own custom controller (clearly referring to the Ace-Edge flight sticks that were released alongside the 360 version).
With no official word from Namco Bandai on the topic, we're hesitant to believe this one just yet, although breaking exclusivity agreements is certainly not unheard of in this industry.

Not really. I'm a Sony whore myself, but if I enjoy a game on one console, I'm not too disposed to buy it on another. It's not like the fun they had will be magically erased.
But since I don't own a 360, I'll be glad to fly the unfriendly skies with AC6 if it comes back home.

I thought this was a timed exclusive to begin with. Oh well. I rented it, it isn't that great. But I suppose if your a fan of flight simulators then its probably one of the best right now. PS3 owners enjoy.

The scuttlebutt is that in order for this game to be as fun as it should be, you need that expensive joystick. If they're as limited as they were for 360, I'd make sure to get one at launch.
Actually, this whole post was just a flimsy excuse to use the word "scuttlebutt."

Actually, I bought the package that included the flight controller and found that I didn't care for it. I've recently finished the game using the standard Xbox360 controller: the HOTAS was simply too large, requiring several inches of deflection and full-arm movements to do the same thing that I accomplished on the couch by moving my thumb a few millimeters. The suction cups included didn't really hold the (wired!) controllers in place either. After a couple of missions with the "realistic" setup, they went back into the corner to collect dust. Upside, they are USB and recognized by Vista OOB, so if we ever get another Lock-On type game...

So begins the typical game cycle for a ps3 game...
I didn't buy the game but I hope it remains an exclusive so I can check it out next time around and see if its good.

Well that certainly cripples my desire for a 360. With Bioshock, Gears and now Mass Effect ( http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1258144#post1258144 ) on PC, Ace Combat was really the game pushing me for it.
I'll wait and see if this turns out to be true.

It looks like we may see "segregation" in the gaming market by region?
We'll see some 360 games being ported to the PS3 to see much more success in Japan and Europe and vice versa for here in North America? Look at how much more the PS3 version of DMC4 has sold in Japan over the 360 version and so this game will have to come out for the PS3 there at least.
They may not bother with us, for instance, Konami ported Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance to the Xbox here but didn't release the port in Japan, whats the point?

I predicted just this several months ago, when the sales trend in Europe started favoring PS3.
360: US Market. If you want a game to sell well in the US, it better be on 360
PS3: Europe Market, if you want a game to sell well in Europe+Japan, it better be on PS3
Wii: World Market, if you want a game to sell well worldwide, put it on Wii.
And yeah, blah blah blah minigames, blah blah.

Crono, it's for that reason alone that I LOVE region free on PS3. I mean, when I imported Gundam Musuo, I never imagined in a million years it would come stateside. But this is the first time in a long time that I look into importing on something other than PS2 (I have a Japanese PS2) and handhelds in a LOOOOONG time.

2/10. You're going to have to do a lot better than that.

(as though the last post's tone was completely lost as text...)
I'd go with "Haze for 360 re-confirmed. That's why it's been delayed, so they can catch the 360 version up for a simultaneous release."
Nerd raged a little just writing that.

Hey, no one takes MGS4 CONFIRMED!! seriously anymore. You'll need to strike at something new, and why not go for something that used to be in development for it?

Katamari should have been on the Wii in the first place. Or maybe an XBLA title at $15 max.

It's worth noting the Gamefly.com lists "Beutiful Katamari" for both Wii and PS3 with a date of "TBD". It's easy to figure out what's going on here - timed exclusives. Eternal Sonta has already been announced for PS3. Ace Combat and some Katamari game may be coming to PS3 - unconfirmed. Tekken 6 and Time Crisis 4 coming to the XBox 360 and/or Wii?
