Camelot's upcoming Wii golf title We Love Golf will feature Capcom-flavored alternate costumes for its male and female golfers, allowing players to tee off as Chun Li, Apollo Justice, Jill Valentine, or Arthur from Ghouls 'n Ghosts. The fun doesn't stop there, however, as Capcom is allowing fans to vote on the final two Capcom characters to be included in the North American and European versions of the game.
By heading over to the official Capcom blog, players will be able to vote for one female character, and one male character. Female character choices consist of Cammy (Street Fighter), Morrigan (Darkstalkers), Rouge (Power Stone), Roll Caskett (Mega Man Legends), and Ashley Graham (Resident Evil 4).
The male options are Frank West (Dead Rising), Balrog (Street Fighter), Guy (Final Fight), Ken (Street Fighter), Dhalsim (Street Fighter), and Captain Commando (former Capcom mascot and protagonist of the arcade game of the same name). At the moment, Ken and Morrigan are both leading their respective polls. Of course, we wonder why Capcom can't simply include all the characters in the game, but we'll take what we can get.

Why do they keep trying to reinvent the wheel with these golf games? Nintendo did it right the first damn time. What is with these stupid complicated swing mechanics?
I want the SWING the controller and HIT the ball. I don't want to charge up my power by angling the Wiimote a certain way and lock in the power at just the right second.
Sometimes I think I'm the only smart person on Earth.

Motion controls can't capture movement well enough to translate it into fine changes in swings. So get used to buttons and levers.
I find it hilarious you complain about one of the best golf games ever made as being pointless.

Buttons and levers can't/don't capture those changes well enough either, chief, but they've managed to somehow they've managed to make it work...sort of. It doesn't actually work very well and lord knows it's not particularly fun.
Motion controls could easily, EASILY work better than they do for a golf game. All they need it for someone to go in there and actually tweak them to perfection.

I'm sorry.... did you say Nintendo got the Golf controls right with WiiGolf? I beg to differ, man. Nothing was more frustrating than that steep learning curve. I mean, it was fine as a free game damnable hell it was broken if I actually spent money on it.
Oh well, I'm more of a HSG kind of man anyway. It's like hunting quail eggs...

It took me a few swings to figure out and get a feel for Wii Sports Golf but after than I had no problems with it. Putting sucks, though, admittedly.
The tiger Woods games feel a bit more refined in some areas but like a step back in others.
Implementing these kind of controls just feels like Capcom is hedging their bets. If it flops on the Wii, it'll be easy to ring over to any other system. That's my conspiracy theory, at any rate.
I think it was the guys at Kotaku about a week or so ago who said the controls for We Love Golf were a bit awkward, too. And Lord knows these kind of controls didn't work very well for Super Swing Golf, either.

It's good to see Roll Caskett in the list... I wish Capcom should do more Mega Man Legends games instead of these infinite sequels they have now for the other Mega Man titles.

They can't include all the characters in the game because then they wouldn't be able to sell them to you one at a time as DLC.

This list of characters (plus many others) is why Capcom should forget about getting Marvel back and just make Capcom vs. Capcom.
