Quick, name one thing that could improve the epic, graphically and acoustically rich experience that is BioShock. If you said "squeezing it onto a cell phone with a three inch screen, tinny speakers and a memory cache the size of my old 486" then you could probably get a job at mobile developer IG Fun, which has just secured the mobile phone rights to the game.
"We're trying to do great things and BioShock on mobile promises to offer a whole new gaming experience and unmatched excitement amongst mobile gamers the world over," said IG Fun CEO Sean Malatesta. Unmatched excitement, you say? Surely you don't think BioShock mobile will be more exciting than IG Fun's other mobile "hits" like Rush Hour 3 and the improbably named Good Night Mr. Snoozleburg. Because that would just be crazy.

What a waste of $4.95

Lame side-scroller, here we come.
I can just imagine the licensing team laughing at how much they were probably paid for this.

Call me crazy, but using my cell phone for communication is fine and dandy. Last time I checked, I didn't have the urge to break out my cell to start an epic quest, to go on a photography spree, or to bust out the tunes. Whatever happened to using a phone as just a phone?

Cellphone games are good for when you're in a boring meeting or on the shitter.

I only play games on my mobile phone when I am on the crapper, and that in itself pretty much sums up all mobile phone games.

Paragraph, I don't exactly go to lectures to play games, I go to listen and get something out of the money I'm spending, but sometimes the public health lectures can just get that dull that you need a 5 min break. I have my phone in pocket, and I can easily pick it up and play a puzzle game or something like Lego Star Wars for 5 mins and then put away again. I have barely any games (4 and thats including 1 that came with it) and any games I pick are on offer on the O2 mobile webpage so costs less. Not bad when you consider a DS game can be £25-30 so if I get a few hours total out of it then its no worse than any DS game for value of money, if we neglect the whole graphics and sound thing.
In a lecture the sound will be off and I prefer to be able to sit down and fully enjoy my DS game when I can play it. I'm at uni so have no home console here so DS is brilliant for some more immersive gaming than internet or phone gaming and I like to enjoy when I'm relaxing with it.

Any game that goes from a console or PC onto a mobile phone is shit. While you sit there playing your boring-arse sidescroller you think back to the console version with the amazing graphics and real-time this and that. With 27 thousand units on screen and 7 trillion weapons to collect compared to the one sword and 2 floating skulls on your phone.

who the hell uses their cell phones to play videogames anyways?? I've used mine to play Tetris to kill time, but otherwise the DS or PSP are a whole lot better (and have better games) than any cell phone game could ever have outside of the puzzle genre.

What's next? God of War, or even Call of Duty 4 on cell phones? Oh...nevermind.

Actually COD4 DS isn't bad, is short but is good. AC according to metacritic isn't shit but is too short and if you ask me AC isn't a game that deserves to be a franchise.

I read something about this the other day and I thought it was just a lame rumor ,I mean the source was G4 after all.
Why are they doing this? Also how frequently someone actually buys a cell phone game?
To be honest I’ve played cell hone games and some of them are decent but in that tiny screen you can really play over 5 minutes without getting a headache.

Would you kindly make more shitty cell phone games? (Not that Bioshock was shitty, I love that game.)

Nope. I still remember the times when I played that game on my uncle's PC when I went to visit him. A good passtimer, though it became annoying rather quickly.
And whoever thought about Bioshock being a good idea to be ported on cellphones should be beaten with a golf club, ala Ryan Andrew.
