We've been kind of milquetoast on Dark Sector, the first "next gen" game ever announced, for reasons ranging from its completely uninspiring title to ... well, it's basically the title. But now that the game has been denied a rating by Australian classification board the OFLC, we're totally in to it.
How could they not see how their plan would backfire? Check this line from their report: "When Hayden cuts off his opponent's limb with the glaive, large amounts of blood spray forth from the stump and the injured person screams in agony which increases the impact." Umm, we'd like to write something about how awesome that sounds, but we're a little busy pre-ordering eight copies. IGN guesses the game will be softened and resubmitted, but unless they're going to insist that the stumps are actually spraying strawberry preserves, it sounds like they have a lot of work ahead of them.

Yep, looks like I'm buying it day 1 now. Thanks OFLC! These guys should review all of our games.

Thats just....poetry.

Why must morons like Fox News and Jack Thompson ruin games. If the ESRB wants to give it an AO rating, so what. Maybe Manhunt 2 could have been a decent game if they didn't have to work with so many limitations (and I'm not referring to the horrid graphics, come on... the Wii and even PS2 are so much more capable than Manhunt 2 graphics). This game is guaranteed to go under the butcher's knife, get all the meat removed (aka, the good parts of the game), and only be left with the fatty parts (aka, the parts that most people don't want to eat). Never really been paying much attention to this game, so I don't know much about it, but, I can say that much will be true.

Australia doesn't have an R rating for games.
We really a backwater, and I don't expect it to change under Kevin Rudd because he wants to put content filters in our ISPs, just like Saudi Arabia and China.

Good call on the Krull reference. As for Dark Sector, I'm looking forward to seeing how it improves from the already-decent trailers I've seen.
