I wonder if the new MLB game lets you juice your players?

Yeah, it'd be a lot of fun - until you had to play the congressional hearing mini-game!

Didn't one of those football games have something like that. I don't think it was Blitz but something with the same style of play as Blitz...

I wish someone would update RBI baseball with some nicer graphics, full season stat tracking, and player trades, but still use the original gameplay. That would be worth my money.

It was RBI baseball and Baseball heroes as the last time I enjoyed a baseball game.

Just finished the Patapon demo. Really fun, losing the beat when "fever" happened made me want to punch the wall a few times though.

Definitely buying this.

Haha, I just finished it as well and thought "I'm glad I didn't preorder this." The fun factor just wasn't there for me. Different strokes for different folks, that sorta thing.

cc123,

I had the same problem until I recognized the frame of the game actually changes color during your turn in either mode. So once fever starts (the issue isn't keeping the beat, just the drastic change as it begins... let's just say I fever moded my entire boss battle... I love their singing as it goes on), you first beat happens as the frame flashes yellow.

The Show '08 is basically what made me buy my ps3.

Great demo, although there are a few graphical issues I noticed, but those are small and don't take away. Game looks/is incredible.

Is that the game in the image.

*Scans for repeating spectator models*

Holy shit... that's the game! If that is what I get after downloading the demo, I will bow down and call this the most realistically looking baseball game. But it still has to pass on its animation...

yea that screenshot looks ridiculous. im downloading the demo now im approaching it with a degree of skepticism graphics wise. my little brother didnt believe it was a game at first glance. the reviews are saying that the gameplay is great though so i am eager to try that. i havent played a baseball game in so long.

I think what really sets this game apart is how the crowd looks. What usually throws me off from a realistic looking game is how 2D or flat-like the crowds are (Madden!!!), but the crowd looks great in this game. I'm surprise that Sony’s Game Division made this....especially looking at the Crap they call NBA 08....eeeeewwwww. I also like the detail faces and shadowing, another thing that EA sucks at.

Is there any way to get the demos without having to use the pain-in-the-ass PlayStation Store?

Pain in the ass?

1. Sign on.
2. Click on icon for MLB '08 The Show Demo.
3. Click Download.
4. Rub ass from pain that PS Store caused.

So I said earlier today that I was hoping for an MLB demo, and Sony did not disappoint! I am pretty damn impressed with what I saw so far. I saw a glitch here and there, but maybe they will be cleaned up by the release. If not, it still looks like it will be great.

Is it me or was it really hard to hit the ball on the MLB The Show Demo...or maybe because I picked Colorado

Hitting in The Show has always been challenging, so it will be almost impossible at first. Guessing pitch type and location are a big help in hitting in the game, although you could always adjust the sliders in the menu so that the pitches come in slower and with less movement.

@DCBlack
I use to play MVP all time but when they droped it for College Baseball I stopped. I was really good at reading what pitch was being thrown...But now everything looks the same. Can't till the difference between a fast ball and a slider until its passed me. This is my first take at MLB The Show so I will give it another chance. Beautiful graphics too.
