I'm fully capable of sitting there doing nothing for the whole trip. But why should I limit myself to staring at the wall? Having a portable gaming system makes the trip go by faster and provides entertainment the whole time. There's no point in purposely restricting yourself.

Hmmm... sit on a plane surrounded by people I don't know and stare at the floor or keep myself with a portable gaming system that distracts me from worrying about flying and makes the trip go by that much quicker... tough call.

You don't travel very far do you? Tell us again after your first 12+hr plane/train/bus anything.

Personally I never travel without my PSP in a jacket pocket. It's a bloody boredom-slayer. If I liked the DS it would be just the same.

You must not travel much......
Just as in a laptop or a portable media player....a gaming handheld is just another form of portable entertainment.

Stop trying to classify a gamer as a loner because they like to play on the run....it only makes you sound like you are a panelist for FOX NEWS.

If this happens, this could be awesome. Imagine playing Halo online on the go. That would be pretty beast. Now if it's priced reasonably, I'll consider getting it.

Microsoft's knows how to do two things really well: Shooters and online.

Neither of which are really suited to handhelds.

No handheld ever had dual-analogs before.

If I wanted a portable red ring, I'd buy a real red ring.

If they could feature a portable that could play XBOX games (not ports mind you) but actual "Smack in the DVD" and play games.....would be great.

If it could also play XBOX 360 games.....well...than itd be a no-brainer YES!!!

Throw in full XBL compatibility.....well....then I'd explode.

considering im not an Xbox fan, i would say probably not right now. i already have a DS Lite and PSP, neither of which i regularly use for games (i use my PSP everyday but as an MP3 player). but im open to new stuff, so who knows, if they come out with some portable media hoss with a nice battery life, pocket friendly form factor, and a reasonable price i could certainly be persuaded to buy one but as of right now, im saying no. but if the specs are good then i could care less about the name brand on it.

yeah, looking at the results, It's not at all surprising. A ton of people think its a great idea and would love a P-xbox, while a lot of people see no room for MS in the portable Market.

It really does come all down to what they can offer that's different from both the Psp and the DS.

With Microsoft, they will most likely offer some form of Xbox Live functionality. Downloadable demos and games. I wonder what format they would use? cartridge or mini-dvds or something.

Hell no i wouldnt buy a portable Xbox not until I'd seen it working for longer than an hour without crashing or red lighting. Theyd have to prove they hadnt taken the cheap route on hardware quality like they did with 360. Also dual analogue sticks are a must, as is access to Live when the thing is connected to the internet.

I would buy it if it were an open platform, a first for a gaming handheld. If not, I'd pass.

get it to play all xbox live arcade games, and tirelessly sync with my 360 when i buy new games, including xbox originals, and this thing will sell faster than free money infused with cocaine, shipped by a supermodel.

A lot of people are asking for dual analog, and unless Sony wises up for the next PSP and gives it two sticks, Microsoft will have the edge there.

But it's still a huge investment, a costly one at that, and they haven't fully recovered from jumping into the console scene yet.
