We were going to start this post off with something about how half-Japanese girls do it to us every time, but considering many people never listened to Weezer's sophomore album Pinkerton, or the song
El Scorcho, we were a little afraid of being called racists ('cause that's always fun). And yes,
Rock Band Weekly is normally a Monday post, but because of the President's Day holiday, where we give thanks and praise to
The Master, the DLC announcement came from Harmonix a bit early.
Individual Songs
- Sex Type Thing - Stone Temple Pilots (160 MS points/ $2)
- El Scorcho - Weezer (160 MS points/ $2)
- Why Do You Love Me - Garbage (160 MS Points / $2)
Videos for this week's
Rock Band DLC can be found after the break. And make sure to check out what STP's Scott Weiland looked like before heroin. Just remember, these songs will be available next Tuesday for the Xbox 360 and Thursday for the PS3.

Pinkerton is the best Weezer album. Fact.
Kyle N. @ Feb 15th 2008 9:47PM
Indeed. Pinkerton is amazing! Every song on it is gold. This is an instant download.
wait in the car @ Feb 15th 2008 10:44PM
As much as I adore Pinkerton, the blue album is untouchable.
rom @ Feb 15th 2008 11:16PM
@Fish
I'm with you on that one. Blue album was awesome, but Pinkerton was special. IMO
Raikage Apple freaking DF (Wii FC 5508 0487 4434 0992) @ Feb 15th 2008 11:34PM
I'd have to say "Blue" untouchable also, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pinkerton. I totally dig the mini solo in Tired Of Sex. Also, they neeeeeeed Only In Dreams
I almost fainted when I saw the picture...
Why didn't they pick Plush for STP?
MarkHawk @ Feb 16th 2008 12:38AM
Blue is in my heart #1, but Pinkerton couldn't of been a better second album from Weezer... :-D
NoHitHair @ Feb 16th 2008 2:12AM
Pinkerton was great, but their lyrics were amazingly self-absorbed and sophomoric. Blue album is untouchable. Period.
deaftly @ Feb 18th 2008 10:08AM
Blue Album FTW
losttoys @ Feb 15th 2008 9:31PM
Sweet. El Scorcho is a must purchase. Though I would still prefer Jonas.
colin @ Feb 15th 2008 9:41PM
i agree with fish, but i would have rather had pink triangle, or tired of sex, or across the sea. lot's of people liked el scorcho, i just didn't dig it that much.
"words and dreams and a million screams oh how i need a hand in mine to feel!" = superb lyrics
Cesaria @ Feb 15th 2008 10:30PM
Across the Sea is one of my favorite songs of all time. Every line is brilliant.
Raikage Apple freaking DF (Wii FC 5508 0487 4434 0992) @ Feb 15th 2008 11:36PM
I like Only In Dreams a little better but that lyric you quoted should go down with the best ever written.
NoHitHair @ Feb 16th 2008 2:15AM
Across the Sea is absolutely amazing - I couldn't agree more.
I also didn't find El Scorcho to be that especially wonderful. Pinkerton had much better songs on it.
copa @ Feb 15th 2008 9:46PM
Pretty amusing. They had to sneak out a Friday announcement because the Monday morning announcements were starting to bring down their website every week.
tmacairjordan87 @ Feb 15th 2008 9:48PM
or because it's president's day on monday...like the article says.
tmacairjordan87 @ Feb 15th 2008 9:49PM
I dont know if i should get sex type thing, cause i like the song, but it seems like it'd be really really easy to play.
Should probably stick to my motto about not every good song makes a good rock band song.
Macroy @ Feb 15th 2008 9:50PM
Pinkerton is actually my favorite album of all time.
Well played, Harmonix.
Well played.
Raikage Apple freaking DF (Wii FC 5508 0487 4434 0992) @ Feb 15th 2008 11:42PM
And "Blue" is mine... Time to throw down fanboy!
MarkHawk @ Feb 16th 2008 12:39AM
Can we agree that the Green album wasn't as goos as Blue and Pink?
Raikage Apple freaking DF (Wii FC 5508 0487 4434 0992) @ Feb 16th 2008 12:54AM
Green was by far the worst, yeah even more so than Make Believe...
NoHitHair @ Feb 16th 2008 2:16AM
Green was awful. Everything after Pinkerton was complete trash.
Cesaria @ Feb 16th 2008 10:51AM
You guys are silly. The list goes as follows
1. Pinkerton
2. Blue Album
3. Green Album (totally under rated)
4. Make Believe
5. Maladroit (absolutely terrible)
And yes, this is the only opinion that matters. :P
psyborg @ Feb 15th 2008 9:54PM
Well that pretty much confirms that leaked list from the other day.
Bring on Muse baby.
klitorisaurus @ Feb 15th 2008 9:50PM
For Sure! There were finally some good songs on that list too!
deft @ Feb 15th 2008 10:19PM
3 down, 39 to go.
Shagittarius @ Feb 16th 2008 11:48AM
Edited: Muse Sucks.
soulpopped @ Feb 15th 2008 10:11PM
Muse! Yes, please!
No more Weezer. Ever. So bad. So, so, so bad.
colin @ Feb 15th 2008 11:28PM
your age is showing
Einhanderkiller @ Feb 15th 2008 11:35PM

Raikage Apple freaking DF (Wii FC 5508 0487 4434 0992) @ Feb 15th 2008 11:39PM
No more of you, that's what I'm talking about.
They need the entire "Blue" and "Pinkerton" albums up.
The rest can die a horrible death...(well Malidroit was ok I guess)
MOAR MUSE!
burjeffton @ Feb 15th 2008 10:20PM
Pinkerton is not only Weezer's best album, it's ranked as one of the greatest indie rock band albums of all time by most serious critics. Kudos for including this song on DLC...
Anni @ Feb 15th 2008 10:29PM
Wait, there ARE people who haven't heard Pinkerton? I can't tell if they're lucky or not. On the one hand, they haven't heard a great album. On the other hand, they weren't as crushed whenever Make Believe sucked so hard.
NukeAssault @ Feb 15th 2008 10:29PM
DO THE SWEATER SONG! >_
Kevin @ Feb 15th 2008 10:35PM
Awesome. Definitely buying Sex Type Thing. I can't wait to play that one!
"I am. I am. I am. I said I wanna get next to you..."
Sweet!!
bounchfx @ Feb 15th 2008 10:43PM
awesome week! getting them all
Robotaholic @ Feb 15th 2008 10:43PM
I love these weekly updates, but is it too much to ask for some NoFX? (Yeah, it probably is). I would love to play something from Wolves in Wolves Clothing, the drumline on some of those songs are phenomenal.
Lewis @ Feb 15th 2008 11:12PM
As a STP fan and a =w= fan, I feel stoked. But they could of picked better songs. Well El Scorcho is sickly fun, so thats ok.
box of sweden @ Feb 15th 2008 11:20PM
Pinkerton was released by DGC, a subsidiary of MCA. Nothing independent about that, or Weezer.
Scott @ Feb 15th 2008 11:59PM
My brother: "Goddamn you half-Japanese girls"? Isn't that racist?
Myself: Nope. It's only half racist.
ronald.raygun @ Feb 16th 2008 3:44AM
you do know that rivers cuomo loves them japanese girls right?
Scott @ Feb 16th 2008 12:57PM
It's a joke.
I like half-Japanese girls as well. ;-)
Charlie_Six @ Feb 16th 2008 2:24PM
What's the other half anyway? Black?
soulpopped @ Feb 16th 2008 12:05AM
i don't understand the appeal of weezer.
tenacious d, muse, motley crue, van halen, the donnas, BANG CAMARO = more needed.
ill trooper @ Feb 16th 2008 2:32AM
Weezer is a fun band for Rock Band. But I agree: Mötley Crüe and Van Halen would really fulfill the potential this game has and push this game into low-atmospheric orbit.
It would go screaming across the sky at dusk, flames and smoke trailing, and you would just be like "Fuck... it's Rock Band again"
ApolloIV @ Feb 16th 2008 12:17AM
Pinkerton was amazing. Blue Album was perfect, god both albums were great. I would cream my pants if we got Assassin from Black Holes and Revelations or Time is Running out.
wes @ Feb 16th 2008 12:26AM
I'll be the first to say....YAY to the garbage tune,I quite like them...Downloading all 3 this week.
Robert Chung @ Feb 16th 2008 12:42AM
any ideas if all three of these are master tracks?
Robert Chung @ Feb 16th 2008 12:44AM
and are we sure that the Hysteria is NOT the def leppard version? because that would SUCK. Muse FTW!!!
MarkHawk @ Feb 16th 2008 12:47AM
I'll be downloading all 3 but no Pack this week? I need those 50 points ... for milk.
Also I'd be in for full albums of these 2's.
TooManyDinners @ Feb 16th 2008 4:37AM
The Blue Album is the best clearly (only in dreams)
and Maladroit is hideously underrated
