We were going to start this post off with something about how half-Japanese girls do it to us every time, but considering many people never listened to Weezer's sophomore album Pinkerton, or the song El Scorcho, we were a little afraid of being called racists ('cause that's always fun). And yes, Rock Band Weekly is normally a Monday post, but because of the President's Day holiday, where we give thanks and praise to The Master, the DLC announcement came from Harmonix a bit early.
Individual Songs
Sex Type Thing - Stone Temple Pilots (160 MS points/ $2)
El Scorcho - Weezer (160 MS points/ $2)
Why Do You Love Me - Garbage (160 MS Points / $2)
Videos for this week's Rock Band DLC can be found after the break. And make sure to check out what STP's Scott Weiland looked like before heroin. Just remember, these songs will be available next Tuesday for the Xbox 360 and Thursday for the PS3.
I'd have to say "Blue" untouchable also, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pinkerton. I totally dig the mini solo in Tired Of Sex. Also, they neeeeeeed Only In Dreams
i agree with fish, but i would have rather had pink triangle, or tired of sex, or across the sea. lot's of people liked el scorcho, i just didn't dig it that much.
"words and dreams and a million screams oh how i need a hand in mine to feel!" = superb lyrics
Pretty amusing. They had to sneak out a Friday announcement because the Monday morning announcements were starting to bring down their website every week.
Pinkerton is not only Weezer's best album, it's ranked as one of the greatest indie rock band albums of all time by most serious critics. Kudos for including this song on DLC...
Wait, there ARE people who haven't heard Pinkerton? I can't tell if they're lucky or not. On the one hand, they haven't heard a great album. On the other hand, they weren't as crushed whenever Make Believe sucked so hard.
I love these weekly updates, but is it too much to ask for some NoFX? (Yeah, it probably is). I would love to play something from Wolves in Wolves Clothing, the drumline on some of those songs are phenomenal.
Weezer is a fun band for Rock Band. But I agree: Mötley Crüe and Van Halen would really fulfill the potential this game has and push this game into low-atmospheric orbit.
It would go screaming across the sky at dusk, flames and smoke trailing, and you would just be like "Fuck... it's Rock Band again"
Pinkerton was amazing. Blue Album was perfect, god both albums were great. I would cream my pants if we got Assassin from Black Holes and Revelations or Time is Running out.
