We were going to start this post off with something about how half-Japanese girls do it to us every time, but considering many people never listened to Weezer's sophomore album Pinkerton, or the song El Scorcho, we were a little afraid of being called racists ('cause that's always fun). And yes, Rock Band Weekly is normally a Monday post, but because of the President's Day holiday, where we give thanks and praise to The Master, the DLC announcement came from Harmonix a bit early.
Individual Songs
Sex Type Thing - Stone Temple Pilots (160 MS points/ $2)
El Scorcho - Weezer (160 MS points/ $2)
Why Do You Love Me - Garbage (160 MS Points / $2)
Videos for this week's Rock Band DLC can be found after the break. And make sure to check out what STP's Scott Weiland looked like before heroin. Just remember, these songs will be available next Tuesday for the Xbox 360 and Thursday for the PS3.
I think I've seen them 4 times... Best time I saw them was my 2nd time in Milwaukee maybe just after Beautiful Garbage was released. Shirley Manson just had an incredible amount of energy and it definitely transferred into the crowd. It was amazing.
The 3rd time I saw them, again in Milwaukee, it was a slight let down. This was after Bleed Like Me was released, and for whatever reason, Shirley just didn't have the energy again... and again, it transferred to the crowd, which was sort of quiet and subdued.
About a month after that, they added another tour date to Chicago and we managed to get tickets to it, and they partially redeemed themselves. They had more energy and a better set list, but it still wasn't as good as that 2nd concert we went to. Hopefully they'll release another album and can go on another tour... maybe they can somehow reach that 2nd concert again. =)
I'll be grabbering all 3 this week; all about the weezer/stp. I don't know this Garbage track, but since i was just bitching a couple weeks ago about having enough female-vocal'd tracks, I figure I should put my MSPoints where my mouth is.
Garbage is great. This is from their newest album, which isn't as good as their 2nd one (or a lot of their first), but it's still pretty good. I'd love to see their entire 2nd album (Version 2.0) released, but what can you do.
el scorcho! i like how rock band is putting only the good weezer songs in rock band. although across the sea is my favorite weezer song, tired of sex is a perfect fit for rock band just because of that wicked solo. go pinkerton!
but then again... aren't ALL weezer songs great? Go back and give the green album a listen.... pure pop-rock goodness. Island in the sun=classic, hash pipe=classic, don't let go, photograph, o girlfriend.... such well composed and written songs
Weren't we promised whole albums? I really don't want to buy any songs to only turn around and be forced to a buy an album with that song already in it.
Pinkerton has always been my favourite album. Ironically, I always thought if it wasn't for STP's Purple, I would consider it the best 2nd album I've ever heard.
And when am I going to be able to pull off some "Unglued" by STP there Harmonix? That's a no brainer. Or the song that follows it on the Purple album, "Army Ants." That has Rock Band written all over it.
come on people....we need some party tunes....how come there isn't any montley crue, def leppard, pink floyd...etc....not getting these songs this week....
When were we promised a RHCP pack? I must have missed that posted by an official source and not by someone fabricating something and posting it on the forums.
