Capcom US's official blog is reporting that the Lost Planet: Extreme Condition demo has been safely returned to the Playstation Network, in good working order. According to Capcom, the original problem stemmed from over 100,000 people downloading and running the online demo in its first 24 hours, causing a bit of unexpected server stress.
The Lost Planet demo features elimination and team elimination modes on the Pirate Fortress map, and is limited to 8 players per match. The full title is due out in North America on February 26, and will feature all the additional content from the PC version (and yes, that includes Frank West from the 360-exclusive Dead Rising -- irony of ironies).

Server stress? I'm having flashbacks of an Xbox Live Christmas.
I really liked this game on the 360. It has one of my favorite boss battles in recent history. You PS3 peeps will see.

We're back! This time with less "server crashing".

I wish more developers would allow you to make your own servers. Sometimes I would set up a server for Timeshift and then watch some Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
Especially when I started having problems with my controller to think I'm pressing left with the right analog stick while pressing up with the left one. Has anyone ever had or heard of that problem before? It happens with PS3 and PS2 games.

I think the reason why they don't let you is because they're afraid that people would hack the server client, and therefore cheat a buttload.
And perhaps hack stats, dunno.

Well, it's a known fact that the 360 is vastly inferior to the PS3. So I'll stick with it, thanks.

Sorry if this post does not address Lost Planet, but I have to say this; HOLY SHIT that baseball game on PS3 looks absolutely freaking amazing. Try to catch the demo. It looks sick.
Lost Planet, uhm...yeah...

NO steve. It's MLB The Show, developed by Sony and will never be on the 360.
Cry Moar and try again.

Sorry Steve-O, but there was no baseball game released a few months ago. I've never watched a full game of baseball in my life, but just knowing how sports game release schedules work, I could've told you that. I like flamebait posts as much as the next guy, but Steve, all you did there was prove that you're not the sharpest knife the in drawer.

sloppy? The game was never good to begin with, need to use a much more sinister word for it.
Honestly, as an owner of the 360 version I strongly discourage anyone from buying the game. The single player just isn't any fun, and the multiplayer gets old real fast.

I was looking forward to buying Lost Planet until I tried the demo. I thought the multi player looked horrible (graphic wise). Maybe it's just the multi player that look like that? Wonder...if that's the case then i'll buy it for $40. I'll show PS3 and Capcom some support.

You're not the only one who thought the graphics looked horrible. It looks like a port of a ps2 game, and the gameplay didn't excite me either. Just not my thing I suppose.

Well, its confirmed now! I will not be buying this game! It's required to install a 5GB file on your PS3. This is definitely a trend that I'm not feeling with Capcom. It was very disappointing when I had to do it for DMC4. I will not put up with this BS. If that's how Capcom's games are going to be made for the PS3 then I will not be buying their products.
I've played better looking titles on the PS3 that doesn't require this install BS.

@mike
you'll be missing out on some of the better quality games, but to each their own.
i loved this game on 360. i played the multiplayer for 6 months at least. the graphics are some of the best seen so far. just try this for yourself and don't listen to anyone else.

Dear Capcom,
Please keep Lost Planet. We'd like Dead Rising instead.

Oh there's plenty who are old enough to type. They've just , you know, been busy playing actual games on their games console instead of fucking about with what amounts to tech demos and shitty ports with the odd Tomb Raider meets Gears rip off tossed in for good measure. Now go pleasure yourself over the ten year plan or something.
