Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is going in circles

Here we go again. Just like last year, and the year before that, we pack up and head off to San Francisco. Though it was last year, it seems like only yesterday we were amassing in California. It's disorienting -- kind of like a mobious strip. Okay, have we justified this week's theme? Good, let's move on. Here are our picks for the week's best game-related webcomics.

I actually enjoy CAD so I found the BashCAD Theorem really well done.

No way, man! Obviously the real funny thing to do is to find talented people to hate and then make a big deal about it. All the time. And obsess over it and then laugh with other people that hate that same person. It's really much better than enjoying life or finding something you like.

Saria, I'm pretty sure you just described the internet.

CAD wasn't even game related this week so it loses by default.

The DA joke is actually rather subtle. See, he pretends to be explaining the CAD Theorem when the Theorem actually lies in the fact that this DA comic is WALL OF TEXT and staggeringly unfunny. Well played, DA. Well played.

Penny Arcade, on the other hand, is goddamn hilarious this week.

I wonder if he did it on purpouse, I read the comments, and he seemed to be against the CAD bashing...

Tim Buckley should really rent out his services as a professional punchline killer. He's quite good at it.

Yeah I don't know what to think. It has wallz-of-text, stupid pointless violence and every character has the same CAD-inspired stoner expression.

But then the author goes and makes the "If I don't like it, I don't comment on it" quip. I don't know what to think.

Just a quick note: the comic is called "Dinosaur Comics". It just happens to be at qwantz.com, but it's not titled "Qwantz".

Noted, but I can't fix it due to an angry bit of polling code. (It bit me, it freaking bit me!) I'll make a note of it on Tuesday.

The only reason i would ever be jealous of fuckely is because hes managed such a perfect, long-running scam, and still has time to be an asshole.

DU wins. Thats about as simple as it gets to make Mario's world totally perverted in every game possible.

How do I submit comics? I know a guy (over the internet) that has a pretty funny sprite comic (I know, your thinking sprites - ugh) but they are genuinly funny.

Can I ask you a question? Why is 2P Start featured in every one of these webcomic things? The comic is absolutely god-awful. It's not funny and the "art style" is worse than my 5 year old brothers. They should not have a website. Moreso, the creator should not exist.

They're probably featured because, oh, I don't know, it's a gaming webcomic that's updated every week? I actually find them quite funny. Just because you don't get the joke doesn't mean it's not funny to someone else.

And seriously, dude, saying someone shouldn't exist just because you don't like their drawing style... move out of your parent's basement already!

id like to see you be able to create a comic every week with the same art style if not better every week. Making a comic every week isn't always easy, since u may not have a idea or school/job/GF consumes most of your day. Unless you can make better and prove it by making a comic every week, dont complain and dont read it if you dont like it.

Put up or shut up. Have your 5 year old brothers produce better art, preferably game related, and submit it here and to the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup.

i think awkwardzombie.com (katie tiedrich's comic) also deserves mention i find it quite hilarious

Yeah, but she was 'AFK' for some time, so they must've missed it. A simple reminder to Ross per week should be enough until he adds it to his "to-check" list. ;)

It only works on the "witty dialog thats funnier to read and pretend they are saying it than to actually hear them say it" level though.

I've been playing Prof. Layton continuously the past few days, and when I saw the Penny Arcade comic, I seriously roffeld.

Truck bearing kibble was great, time to bookmark this one...and "wall of text" sucks even worse when it's self referential.

"You'll never be like 8-bit theater!"

What about Bob and George? Or Kid Radd....granted Kid Radd was more like a cartoon show, or flash comic. Or whatever.

The sad thing is, is that on the 8-bit forums, I have a sprite comic that I host on....Geocities!

Trust me they're not as bad as the last 2 weeks.

Penny Arcade gets my vote this week. After some time, they made a comic that really made me laugh.

My runner-ups for this week are DA and DU. They did some pretty funny comics too.

Man, people sure do hate Tim Buckley. I don't understand it. Anyway I'm gonna go visit cad-comics, game a bit and finish a writing assignment due tomorrow.

It's spelled Möbius, for the record. Yay, pedanticness!

Next week's wrapup needs to include the 2/17 edition of FoxTrot.

CAD grew on me. I didn't find it funny at first but I think Tim has hit his stride and I enjoy reading the strip.

Oh man Dinosaur Comics for me, purely for the devil's last line.

And I don't know why webcomic artists bash CAD, that's their thing, but I bash it because every time I read it, I groan and wonder why Buckley ever thought any of it was funny.

"Oh look, what's-his-face is doing some wacky stunt! Who would've guessed it? It's so wacky, because he is wacky. Do you get it?"

If ANY of you can tell me why 2P Start is funny I will award you ONE FREE INTERNETS.

It's more black humour, really. You read it, and you think "Damn, this is terrible. Script, art, everything." But then you realize this person gets ridiculous amounts of hits from things like this Webcomic Wrapup, thus perpetuating the cycle of suck. So the humour comes from the blatant irony that life throws at your face before it kicks you in the balls.

It's much like Shakespeare.

The Penny Arcade one was pretty funny, but I lol'd real hard at ze Dinosaur comic. The Devil is awesome!

And once again Penny Arcade sucks...
and wins.

Can anyone provide me some more informations about CAD ?
