PS3 owners worried that Fallout 3 might come to their system of choice later than Microsoft's box(es) can put their fears to rest. Executive producer Todd Howard said that Fallout 3 should (unlike the company's last big release Oblivion) see a simultaneous release. "They should all be the same date," he said. "That's our plan."
It's definitely happy news, but we're going to wait until a bit closer to the game's Q3 release before we go get our SIXAXIS-shaped champagne flutes out of hock. As evidenced by a bevy of PS3 game delays, programming for the system is apparently about as predictable as raising mogwais.

more than likely. it seems to be the trend anyway. i love the PS3 but it certainly seems to be a bitch to program for.

Ok:
1. The PS3 wasn't out when Oblivion was released or just came or, can't remember. People seem to forget that the 360 has had a year headstart. If you look at first gen 360 games, well... they're not so hot either. It's a matter of learning the architecture. Look at what Insomniac and Naughty Dog can do. The PS3 certainly isn't inferior, in fact it's probably quite a bit more powerful, just harder to work with.
2. Frankly, by now, all development delays due to multiplatformness should be over and if not, I blame the developer. It's been said that it's best to start development on the PS3 and then port it to the 360, so just do that. It's been long enough now and if you pay attention the situation is vastly improved over just 6 months ago.

Not that the simultaneous release really effects me (360 version), but it's still cool news to hear.
This is one of the games I am really looking forward to this year. Oblivion was a great game, but the Fallout world has more to offer in my opinion. I've been getting pretty tired of playing a knight in shining armor. Time for some knight in post-apocalyptic rusted armor action with guns and nades.

I have no idea which system I'll be getting it for. Probably not my PC since I won't be upgrading it for a while.

Your description of the type of setting you like is one of the reasons I prefer JRPGs over WRPGs. I hate playing in D&D medieval setting.

@bAssackwards
Yeah, same here. I would on my PC if only it were a more capable machine; however, it is not. And my 360 could always use another game in it's library.
@Vincent060
Again, same thing here. I've generally been more of a JRPG fan myself. Games like Oblivion are fun at times, but new settings are much more welcome, which is why I think F3 has the potential to being one of the better (if not best) WRPGs, at least in my opinion.

It could affect you though if the PS3 version is delayed, in turn forcing a 360 delay because of this "simultaneous" BS.

@Matt
Honestly I don't think that it will affect me at all. If it turns out that the PSThree needs a delay, then I believe they will delay if for that system only.
If in fact it needs to be delayed to one system or another, and they do delay it on all three. I will be a little bit pissed, and turned off of the game a bit. But I don't see that happening.

Even though a company probably wouldn't admit it, I've yet to read on a game being delayed for release because of a PS3 delay. A small statement is usually made that the PS3 version is delayed but the other platforms are still on schedule.
Might as well get the money now, right?

Hey Bassackwards, there is this one game coming out called Grand Theft Auto IV that is delayed for 360 because of the PS3 version. That was pretty much admitted by the developer.

Well, to be fair, Oblivion was supposed to be a launch game on PS3...
Although, it was also supposed to be a launch game on 360. Come to think of it, both systems had a 6 month delay in that regard... some things truly are equal.

Has nobody thought to give Bethesda the benefit of the doubt and assume that they're actually coming along just fine on both versions, so they have no problem making this declaration?

yeah, as usual, even though this should sell very well on PC. I'm just hoping that they don't hinder the PC version by limiting the inputs to a gamepad. So long as they use the benefits of a m/k and a good interface that works for PC, I'll be happy. Otherwise, they're gonna have a lot of whiny pc gamers like myself.

Or more importantly, nobody wishes to note the additional $10 MSRP console tax so arbitrarily added to the PC edition? No? Ok then.

I hear blu-rays are effective against gremlins. Might be why mogwais are harder to raise for PS3 stable.

If they give the PS3 version mod support(like with UT3 and TF2), I'll be sure to pick up that version.

Great, so now we all have to wait when they run into problems making it work on PS3. I hope developers are not going to start making a habit of this.

There's no reason to believe the PC version would be done first. Our goal is to have them all out at the same time.

"Our Goal"?
Fallout should be released for the Pc first because it is a PC series, if it gets dumbed down to the level that the Rainbow Six series did for console tards, I will be upset.
Oh yeh, and are you quoting something, or are you trying to say you work for Bethesda.
