If you're interested to know how the elite prepare for trade shows, check out our gallery of blogging gear from a few of the Joystiq Network writers (that includes the Fanboys, WoW Insider and Massively) heading to the show floor this year.
You'll probably notice a few common elements (voice recorder, cell phone, laptop) in each picture, as well as some not-so-common additions as noted in the picture above. (Note: due to abnormalities in the light rays at Joystiq HQ, this writer was unable to snap a photo of his equipment. Rest assured, it included among the usuals, a towel, a painted Day of the Dead skull mask and a plush Walrus with a beret and glasses that looks just like Jamie Hyneman.)

Ok, judging from the write-ups, Michael Zenke seems the nerdiest, which on a gaming blog means coolest.

A gun?

Don't worry, it's a John Woo model. So, when it fires, it just hits walls. If you turn on the safety, it dispenses chocolate frosting. Yummy.

I find it ironic that Joystiq would have a gun in this picture while they go off to the Game Developer's Conference, and then the story above this one talk about the recent NIU shootings and how guns/violence aren't linked to video games.
I'm sure it wasn't intentional, and since we all here know that video games don't exactly lead to crazy, unexplainable behavior, many of us wouldn't think about it.
This one is poor timing though... I can see FOX News finding this out and airing it for about 6 hours each day.

Sony Ericsson Z520?
Source of podcast GSM noise CONFIRMED. Seriously, I used to troubleshoot that model on a daily basis and it causes more noise than the NPD report post.

"Question: How awesome is your game?"
Good question. Please ask that at the Blizzard booths in regards to SC2. Would also be nice to see some Spore coverage. Have fun guys!

I love these types of posts... don't know why they're so interesting. Much like WOW insider's posts on other people's gaming spaces...
Need more of the writers', though!

The sad part is that GDC is not a trade show.
But all the PR hype from PR departments desperate for visibility is making it one. And it's getting harder and harder to sit in the sessions the whole day - instead, companies are eager to show their latest builds to the press. Can't we do that at E3 which is not too far away anyway?

I miss my iRiver H340...great little device, but I dropped it one day, and the motherboard went out. Never found a replacement mobo. Unless, of course, if you ever decide to get rid of it, I wouldn't mind getting a mobo in the mail...
