Atlus countdown raises hopes for Persona FES

Atlus is up to something. We have a sixth sense about these things, though the ominous countdown on the company's website is a good indicator that something is up. Unfortunately we'll have to wait until the clock finally ticks down on February 26 to find out exactly what the something is. We have our own ideas, like a reprinting of Odin Sphere so maybe we could find the darn thing.

However, many internet sleuths have another idea, citing the timer's background as having been lifted from Persona 3, and hoping against hope that when the timer finally reaches zero Atlus will announce plans to localize Persona 3 FES, a special 'director's cut' style edition of the company's earlier released niche RPG. The expansion to the original game was first released in April 2007 in Japan, but has since that time eluded North American players, despite numerous rumors that Persona 3 FES was indeed on its way. Now the Atlus faithful are left to wait a few more days, time enough to ponder just what the niche publisher has waiting in the wings.

Well, even it's Trauma Center... I wouldn't be dissapointed. But they probably just got cheapo and reused a flash layout from another page.

If it IS Persona 3 FES, I hope it gets released soon. I still haven't made it very far into Persona 3 and would gladly restart to play the "director's cut" because I am totally a sucker for that sort of thing.

Is good Trauma Center 2? I just have the first one and the DS one...

After sinking almost 114 hours into P3, as much as I say I wouldn't do it again, I know I would because the game was that damn awesome.

Or how about a reprinting of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. The game is not even a year old here in the U.S.A. and its already super rare. WTF!!!

In Japan, Persona 3 FES was released in 2 editions. One with jsut FES, and another with Persona 3!!! I'm hoping the latter is true if it comes out to the US cause i'm playing the game thru gamefly and i would really like to buy it

Having an opinion is fine; stating it as fact is not. People need to be more familiar with phrases like "I think..." or "I didn't like..." etcetera, etcetera.

If it is FES, I will squeal with delight. I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of Persona 3, but unless you want to spend over $70 on Ebay for just the game that's not happening :(

yet another RPG i'll never play, what happened to the good old days, where you finally get to god, then kill him... those were the glory days of RPGs... the whole genre died when god did... sorry, but RPGs just havn't thilled me since i beat FF...

Odin Sphere is hard to find now? My store still has hundreds of copies of it. Then again I do work for a family owned game store.

Man, I wish there were more stores like that around here. Everything here is big name, and therefore if a game isn't super-hyped and uber-marketed, there's maybe two copies, if that.

Hmm, if this is true, then the GameSpot by my house getting a shipment would make sense. I hope it is FES, I've been playing Persona 3 through GameFly and I'm completely addicted to the game.

You know, it could always be info on Persona 4, which has been quietly announced for a few months now (for the PS2, no less!).

Seriously, whether it's FES, a new Trauma Centre, Persona 4, or even some Persona stuff at their store (although, Atlus doesn't really have a lot more than games in their store), I won't really care. Atlus is a fairly amazing company and I'm sure whatever they have in store will be sweet.

Persona 3 FES would be awesome, but I think I would be happy if it were any new SMT game.

I would really like a SMT game for one of the portable systems, even a port of one of the games I already have (Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga, etc) would be welcome.

I loled. TBH, I hope it's FES and that they're releasing the version that comes with the full game. If this ends up being the case, I also hope that the store I just ordered the original from doesn't really have it in stock :P

I REAlly hope its FES maybe that'll motivate me to start playing P3 again... or maybe they'll officially announce Persona 4, or did that already happen?

Presently, it's looking more than likely that it's a Persona 3 related event. Several Google Ads have surfaced on at least one site showing another add on clue, other than just the background.
