Yeah, I gotta say the cloth destruction demo included with the Ageia software is pretty darn cool.

Dude, phenominal insight! Can it destroy cloth? or would using both plugins on a piece of cloth open a rift in the Space-Time continium?

Haven't cloth physics been around since the PS2 days? Whats the big deal?

Destruction sounds more interesting.

Well, physics engines were available years ago too, but that doesn't mean that a new version is redundant. ; )

I think this is cloth that acts fully realistically, for example if you've got the Aegeia software installed on your computer (UT3 installs it) you can run their demo and shoot balls at a cloth that moves extremely realistically and eventually tears. Funny thing was that I could run it at pretty high FPS without the Aegeia card, which kind of shows how useful it is. Although to be fair the demos are a lot simpler than what would be in a real game.

nah, lucas arts has their own next-gen physics engine. It's pretty awesome, too! can you remember the demo? throwing R2-D2s to realistically destroy some wood panels (splinters and all!)

them billion-dollar realties from star wars universe shall buy them the resources to do pretty much anything on their own...

ST:TFU uses Havok in conjuncture with two of their own engines... For the 360/PS3 versions anyway.

To be perfectly honest, after seeing what a game can look like after COMBINING more than one physics engine such as in Star Wars: Force Unleashed, Havok just doesn't seem as cool anymore without its companions Euphoria and DMM.

Havok alone = meh.
Havok + Euphoria + DMM = Pure physics sex

I agree, Havok is great and all but the Havok + Euphoria + DMM combo should become a standard like Havok has become.

LucasArts should license their coding of the 3 physics engines, the coding they worked so hard for them to communicate with each other, to other developers or something. Now there is an idea to make more money!

Any game where there is physics there is 10 hours of time spent screwing around destroying whatever you can however you can. No truer story than Psi Ops
