Tokyo Game Show 2008 is 'Ready for Game Time' on Oct. 9 to 12

In the midst of GDC comes word from Japan that this year's Tokyo Game Show has been dated. Get ready for October 9 to 12 at the usual home of Makuhari Messe in Chiba City.

Organizers have already announced this year's theme: "Ready for GAME Time!" (sic). As opposed to every other year when they were just practicing for game time. Seriously, we're having a hard time grasping at this one. Previous themes include "Link up, Reach out, To the World" (2007) and "New Excitement. New Sensations. A New Generation" (2006).

Is the Ludwig Defense Force just this bandwagon that anyone can on to? I'm confused. I feel like I missed this exciting new development in the Joystiq fan-base.

Also - Slow news day? Are all the stories just being piled up waiting to be written? Are we going to be hit in the head with a bevy of stories towards the end of the week?

Microsoft same as above.
Sony might show something cool, maybe.

Square Enix is probably going to show a 1:24 Minute long CGI trailer about the next Final fantasy or (insert RPG here) and Fans everywhere will be chocking other fans in glee.

Enterprise won't show anything new or interesting.
DS-9 re-runs, same as always.
Uthura might show something cool, maybe.

E3 is best for news worldwide, but Liepzig and Tokyo actually let people come and play. Downsizing E3 was exactly the wrong direction to take it.

I went to TGS back in '05 when I lived over there and was horribly underwhelmed, despite it being the year PS3 and 360 were unveiled. Being a Nintendo fan probably didn't help things much, though.
