GDC08: Unreal fluid gets dynamic (on the surface)

Good enough to drink? Heck, Unreal's new water looks good enough to waste a full clip of ammo on! (Sure beats skipping rocks, eh?) We don't know how much a bottle of this stuff will set you back, but we do know: Gears of War 2 'Water Level' CONFIRMED!!!1

That was only part of the presentation, there's a whole bunch more like better lighting, some sweet blob physics, and over a hundred locusts on screen at once. Here's the full 4 minute video (and it's not at such a weird angle either):

That whole presentation makes a lot more sense. It's really more presented as general improvements that add to the whole than someone wanting to sell this water thing as the new hot thing.

Also the video quality shows that things are actually a bit less simple than in the vid on the joystiq page.

the motion is good but the spray's missing.

...Sorry, that looks like diluted jello, at best :/ The ripples are too big and slow.

WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN THAT WATER ACTUALLY MAKES WAVES AND SUCH AGAINST WALLS?!

I am so sick of graphics constantly improving, but the shoreline is still a friggin' straight line. I will never be truely impressed by a game's graphics until they learn of a little something called waves.
