Thanks to an anonymous tipster, we have early word on what might be an upcoming price drop for the Canadian Xbox 360. The above phonecam photo comes from a FutureShop Canada employee, who says he was "quite surprised" to find a $50 price drop for the Xbox 360 Pro Console advertised right on the front page of next week's advertising fliers. Our source also tells us that the inside of the flier trumpets a $50 price drop for the XBox 360 Elite (to $449), an offer which allegedly includes a free copy of Turok.
Both price drops should be effective Friday, if this rumor proves true, and while we have no way of confirming this information as of yet, we have no explicit reason to doubt it either. Regardless, if you're a Canadian looking to buy an Xbox 360, it couldn't hurt to wait a couple of days to see if you can save a bit of

Couldn't they just kick you in the nuts, keep the game, and call it a deal?

Your logic is astounding.
just wondering ....
OH WAIT!!! THEY DID. TWICE!!!
Please you've managed to make even sony fanboys ashamed of their console choice. Please just shut up.
Maybe you just phrased it badly, but how Curmeo behaves has jack shit to do with how much like what I buy. Otherwise the non-trolls will be one circle jerking emo fest of apologists.
My guess is on the currency equalization theory as well.
It's been $50 overpriced for months now.

You take into account, XBL Gold, Wireless Adapter and 120G drive...forget about it, your in 3DO territory at that point.
Frank-I think you mess read what I said. Apples to Apples value comparison depends on what you need/want. Personally speaking when I made the choice I wanted rumble and the 2 free games bundled at the time Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate alliance with the 360. I saved $69 that I would have payed for a PS3 rumble controller and the PS3 isn't bundled with free games. Also the PS3 doesn't come with component cables I'd have to buy that too.
As to the extras the PS3 has. I don't need a 120GB hard drive my 360 is networked to my iMac, I don't need a wireless connection I used the cable I had for my old xbox (XBMC) and I'm not a online gamer, no need for Xbox Live. I just use silver for downloading Demos and arcade games. But this is just me and what I need/want.
Using Cheapassgamer.com I've been able to pick up a nice library of games cheap. Everything from $4 for Viva Pinata to $33 for Mass Effect. I'm having a lot of fun currently playing Crackdown that I bought for $10. The PS3 doesn't have a large amount of cheap games I want to play yet. The Greatest Hits program will hopefully start soon. Then I can buy a PS3 when the Rumble controller is back in the box.

What a DEAL!
By the way, don't be dissing the Canadian bills. At least we can tell our bills apart without having to look closely.

Cause, you know, our money rocks.
Seems like really bad timing at best.

Gotta get rid of them somehow. Otherwise they'll wind up in the landfill with the 2600 E.T. carts.
