Lol from a Canadian viewpoint, it's really convenient, cuz you don't gotta look at the numbers.

I guess you guys are used to it, but whenever we hit the states, it causes a bit of ruffle in terms of finding the correct cash in them wallets =P.

American money is horribly boring when compared to the currencies of the world. I personally am all for putting some variety into the paper bills...

Here in Texas, there are a few places that have stopped accepting cash, which is fine by me, since I pay for everything with a debit card. Our cash sucks.

Free copy of Turok? That's just cruel.

Couldn't they just kick you in the nuts, keep the game, and call it a deal?

Now, now... since it's TUROK, they'd kick you in the nuts in a dark cave while making generic dinosaur noises. That way, no one has to deal with the game itself, but pain is still felt.

Yeah it was pretty funny how there were actually gamers that were hyping that game before its release. It had epic fail written all over it.

Futureshop in Canada is offering a $50 discount on 2 Xbox 360 models, so obviously this is a desperation move by Microsoft, who is neither Futureshop or Canadian.

Your logic is astounding.

Zertoss: Well, this is just a Futureshop employee reporting it. It could easily be a full pricedrop across canada, to bring the price of it in line with the new, more similar, exchange rate.

Vegeta, do you feel ashamed of your choice every time one player teabags another in Halo 3? Does the knowledge somehow make you want to toss a blanket or a towel over the console when friends come over?

Maybe you just phrased it badly, but how Curmeo behaves has jack shit to do with how much like what I buy. Otherwise the non-trolls will be one circle jerking emo fest of apologists.

If there are so many xbox 360 shortages, why the price drop? You only do that when their is excessive supply and low demand.

My guess is on the currency equalization theory as well.

I must concur; the 360 has been overpriced for some time now. Apples to apples, it's just not a good deal, when compared to the PS3.

You take into account, XBL Gold, Wireless Adapter and 120G drive...forget about it, your in 3DO territory at that point.

Now do you mean it's been overpriced because it's not worth the money, or overpriced because, as usual, we Canadians are getting shafted by having everything have extra price added to it for no valid reason?

$50 is nothing. Try comparing car prices. What hurts even more is comparing car prices on models from the big 3 that are made here in Canada...

Geist-Over priced by $50 because of the higher Canadian dollar.

Frank-I think you mess read what I said. Apples to Apples value comparison depends on what you need/want. Personally speaking when I made the choice I wanted rumble and the 2 free games bundled at the time Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate alliance with the 360. I saved $69 that I would have payed for a PS3 rumble controller and the PS3 isn't bundled with free games. Also the PS3 doesn't come with component cables I'd have to buy that too.
As to the extras the PS3 has. I don't need a 120GB hard drive my 360 is networked to my iMac, I don't need a wireless connection I used the cable I had for my old xbox (XBMC) and I'm not a online gamer, no need for Xbox Live. I just use silver for downloading Demos and arcade games. But this is just me and what I need/want.
Using Cheapassgamer.com I've been able to pick up a nice library of games cheap. Everything from $4 for Viva Pinata to $33 for Mass Effect. I'm having a lot of fun currently playing Crackdown that I bought for $10. The PS3 doesn't have a large amount of cheap games I want to play yet. The Greatest Hits program will hopefully start soon. Then I can buy a PS3 when the Rumble controller is back in the box.

About time. We've been paying $50 more then Americans have for a long time. Nice to see things have evened out.

By the way, don't be dissing the Canadian bills. At least we can tell our bills apart without having to look closely.
