Amazon to offer five Wii game deals tomorrow

Amazon must have a warehouse full of Nintendo Wii games it needs to get rid of quick -- the online retailer plans to sell no less than five games tomorrow at bargain prices. The setup for the Gold Box sales is a little complicated, so let's break it down real quick:

the first discounted item goes up at 12:01 AM PST tonight and will be on sale all day or until Amazon runs out of stock
the second, third, fourth, and fifth deals will show up at 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM PST, each one lasting for only four hours while supplies last

So, what games are you hoping to see on sale? Do you think most of the markdowns will be crap -- pet sims and shovelware? Or are you expecting Amazon to step it up and offer AAA titles at dirt cheap prices?

The dirt cheap prices are probably gonna come for the shovelware... The good titles however will probably just get slight discounts.

My fingers are crossed for Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

You all know its going to be like Horsez and Spy Games or better yet Furu Furu Park.

The other week Amazon had a similar sale, and I picked up Battalion Wars 2 for $29, $20 off retail. It's usually decent games.

Goldbox deals are usually pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw RE:UC, Z&W, and NMH. Fat chance on 1st/2nd party games, though.

Ok, so here are the teaser descriptions for the rest of the day's Wii deals -- Let's speculate on what they're going to be:

2pm: Move to town, turn it around, and make it bustle with life. A sim-ple pleasure!

6pm: You'll have big super happy fun fun with this Wii classic.

6am - Fire Emblem
10am - MP3?? That's the only thing that comes to mind for me.
2pm - MySims, no doubt about that one.
6pm - Cooking Mama? Either that or Wario Ware.

If these guesses are right, i'm mildly disappointed - although Mp3 is a big deal to get discounted, it really has been a long time since it's been out. Same with Super Paper Mario. I'm probably most excited about Fire Emblem, if that's what it is.

Anyhow what're you all's guesses?

Hmmm.... for the 10am one, if its Lego Star Wars or MP3, I think I'll have to make an unplanned purchase. The only other game I had hoped would appear is MOH:H2 but no such luck.

I agree with you there. I hadn't planned on buying either (or any game today really), but I'd definitely enjoy them.

Alright, got MP3:C! Makes the time until Brawl pass even more quickly!

I'm using my time until Brawl to relax and enjoy the super great Endless Ocean.

Super Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime 3, MySims, and the last game I can't figure out, I would say Galaxy probably but maybe not.

I did get MP3!! I looked at the CAG forums and read about a few other folks that thought they missed the deal, and sure enough I had the deal all along. If you thought you clicked in time, go back to the item and all the way through to the checkout. You should see the "promotional discount" there if you clicked the deal in time. Good luck!

Holy crap. MySims sold out in 2.5 minutes. MySims! Do people realize what game they're buying?

Well, technically not "sold out". Just the deals on the game sold out.

Wow, they actually had a pretty good selection of games

Unfortunately the games sold out pretty quickly (except surprisingly for Super Paper Mario which seemed to last a while). The one game I may have considered buying would've been Metroid, but I got on less than 10 minutes after it went on sale and it was already sold out!

SPM was the Deal of the Day, so they had a larger supply of those to give out at the discounted price. The others were Lightning Deals which are aptly named: all of them, even the Simpsons Game, were 100% claimed within 90 seconds of the deal's start. MP3:C was the quickest I believe, being 100% claimed in 45 seconds.
