While the world's leading display manufacturers continue toward the ultimate flat panel -- indeed, something akin to "wallpaper" -- the Z-Dome folks are headed in the opposite direction. Far, far out, man. If $15,000 doesn't quite fit your budget, there's also a cheaper, "cloth" version in the works. Yeah, cloth.

I stopped by this booth and checked this thing out. The inside of this "dome" looked like a giant version of the stainless steel bowl my wife and I use for popcorn. I couldn't imagine spending the cost of a car to buy it. Nor could I imagine trying to persuade my wife to let me bring one of these into our tiny apartment.
