The always ambitious Lionhead boss, Peter Molyneux, sat down with reporters during GDC08 to outline the Fable 2 co-op experience in greater detail. Peter discusses the differences between men and women, family life and values and the dangers of giving gamers this much control in a universe while strolling through the beautifully lit world around him. It's an interesting video and gets us ludicrously excited for the game that can't ship fast enough. Fable 2 is set for a 2008 release, but specifics about a release have yet to be revealed.

Could Peter Molyneux just start talking and never stop and record all of it?

I agree, they need to fix the float-walk. Other than that, it's looking pretty sweet and I can't wait to play it with my buddy doing co-op.

I could barely hear half of the video, but I swear when that happens after you meet the child the developer makes some reference to that "not supposed to be happening". It's possible I'm hearing things.
It's obviously a bug, but it did concern me. I'm sure they'll iron it out.

That simply looks amazing...I was addicted enough to Fable 1, I can't imagine how much I'll be addicted to Fable 2...when do we get to see the castle you can buy?!

It certainly looks incredible but early on I was worried that all the work going into keeping the dog happy would become tedious. Now I'm really worried that maintaining a family will become intensely tedious with constant maintenance quests to bring food and money all the time. I don't want this to become a really overblown Harvest Moon type game.
I guess I can always just slaughter them if they become an annoyance :)

You don't even have to start a family I would imagine--because I agree that it would be tedious and lame to manage a dog, wife/husband, and kids... heck, I have that stuff in real life, I play games to escape the wife and kids!!! HAHA...
Did anyone notice that he mentions they opted not to implement split screen in co-op play? To me that says they are having a local co-op play functionality as well as over Xbox Live... I'll try not to get my hopes up too much, but that would be fantastic!

Yea did anyone notice the whole "We could have implemented split-screen" thing?
Does this mean we will have both Local and Xbox Live co-op? I would hate to have the camera retrain you just because your partner moved to another area in the world...
Or maybe it's just Local co-op...That would flaw the game...But i'm pretty damn sure there gonna have Xbox Live...

So from that video the Dog is in Co-op wasn't it said earlier that the Dog wouldn't be in coop? But bloody hell that game looks amazing definetly reserving me a copy now the only thing I need is a release date and whether to reserve it at a college game store and one near my house now.

I know i thought i was getting the game for sure but i might reconsider because its A great RPG i know but i personally thought it was A big let down on assassins creed just playing byurself or watching friends...and i no fable 2 will be just as Great OF AN RPG AND MULTIPLAYER HOW MUCH BETTER CAN IT GET..but if it doesnt have it ovr xbox live that will be a big let down to everyone and might get very low sales

gawd! Only Peter Molyneux has the talent to take a hot topic and make it sound so boring and dry! He is so bloody painful to listen to. Could Lionhead get a new spokesperson please? Please?!

Imagine if this was over live and instead of henchmen it was like a gang and you could run through your world with friends. Imagine either like a league of super hero types or a jesse james gang. Thats the co-op I want. Plus it needs to be the character that I made for my world not some lame sidekick guy/girl, although I'll still play any way they implement it.

Didnt you listen to it, he actually said that was the case..
The game looks graphically beautiful, some people seem to fail to understand the freedom of the game you dont need to start a family thats up to you. You can never get married never settle down the choice is yours..

I love the concept and if promises are actually kept this time around (unlike Fable 1) this could be a great game. I think the graphics look terrible but in this type of open world adventure the graphics are not as important. However, I am going to be cautious with this one because I felt so burnt with the first one. It really looks like utter crap in my opinion especially compared to the majority of unreleased titles. I am really not excited about that many 360 games for 2008. Looks like Ninja Gaiden, Gears 2 and maybe Alan Wake or Too Human for me in terms of exclusives.

Are the two players playing on separate consoles or on ONE console? If not, will there be 2 player co-op on ONE console?
