GDC08: Ninja Gaiden II demo to appear on XBLM

Microsoft promised that we'd have access to special GDC media from the comforts of our own home thanks to the wondrous service that is the Xbox Live Marketplace. And so far, they've done a pretty fine job releasing trailers, free gamer pictures and videos. But never in our wildest dreams did we expect a Ninja Gaiden II demo, which is exactly what is headed down the GDC XBLM pipeline.

According to a GDC content banner that appears on the XBLM, it makes mention that a downloadable Ninja Gaiden II demo will be "Coming Soon". The item is not clickable just yet, so no demo goodness for us, but we have a feeling that Thursday will bring bloody ninja fun for fanboys across the globe. Keep your eyes glued to the XBLM and keep your browser tuned into X3F as we await the demo's release. Ninja-KICK!

Seems kinda early in development to release a demo. But hell, bring it on!

Awesome. GDC is also held on Friday, so I'm hoping if not tomorrow, we'll see it the next day.

Yeah I'm pretty sure at least 75% of the game, give or take a few bugs, is complete by now. I'd see no problem with them releasing a demo now. And I surly can't wait.

Gee I wonder if we will see it in OZ ? The marketplace content is pretty crappy here, yeah we get game demos I guess but what about tv, movies etc, there is only so many times you can watch 1 Robbie Williams film-clip before you go postal.

Honeslty? I think we're going to have to import Ninja Gaiden 2...With decapitation and gore, there's little chance of it passing Australia's rating system...

So if the demo doenst come here, I'll use my American account, and if the game doesn't come here, I'm importing :P

cool, seems I have to connect my XBOX to the PC again and establish a VPN connection to switzerland, so I can download it. (german IPs are banned from downloading bloody demos)

I live in höxter, its pretty much in the center of Germany, near hannover :-)

My family is just north of Phorzeim in tiny town... I'm going to butcher the spelling now but Nuelingen-Bauschlette and dispersed through the surrounding towns.

I can't speak much German but I was born in Phorzeim myself.

Pforzheim is like 400km on the autobahn from here, I've never been there. But did you know that "Forz" or "Furz" is german for "fart", so Pforzheim means Farthome in english :-)

I'm interested in NG2, as well as its achievements...

Well its Thursday and no demo yet. But as someone else said GDC goes on through Friday too. I think its too early, I think by it saying coming soon that it just means that a demo will come out before the game does, which is something Itagaki wanted. But, I hope it comes out this week.

Then again there are several things under the GDC section that say coming soon (like the keynote its self) so it looks very likely it is coming out this week.

I'm guessing the demo is for the American marketplace since mine dosen't say there is a demo coming soon.

It'd better not be America only. :@

Good find, man. Let's hope we see it soon.

The "demo" just went up, but alas it is nothing more than new gameplay footage of the same level we have already seen. It does shed some light on switching weapons, but I am very disappointed. I was really hoping for a demo.
