GDC08: The top PSN downloads since launch

Congratulations to flOw for standing atop of Sony's list of best selling PSN purchases since the Store's debut over a year ago. It's great to see stellar games, like Everyday Shooter and Super Stardust HD, earn the sales recognition they deserve. But, why such high sales of Mortal Kombat II? Guess nostalgia (and bargain price) help loosen the wallet of potential buyers.

Actual dollar values for marketplace downloads... As much as I love live and the live marketplace, I wish MS would do the same. Fuck I hate MS points.

As do I. I've got left over points just sitting in my account. Why can't we do an exact purchase on the spot? This shit is like arcades in the 90's that made you convert dollars to tokens to play their games.

Exactly, I always seem to have like 200 points leftover on my account. What the hell am I supposed to do with 200 points, everything costs 800, or 1200, and whenever I need like 300 points to get something new, of course I can't get 300 points, I have to get like 600 or 800.

My only major gripe with live.

And yes, it would be nice to use money, not points. If MS is gonna charge me a subscription fee to play online, they should at least use currency used by humans while I'm using it.

I'd buy Mortal Kombat 2 also, but its not available in the european store cuz of the rating it has. So although I'm 27, I can't get that game that sweetened my teen years.

Super Stardust HD is in my opinion one of the best games on the PS3 full price or not. It's incredibly polished and so addictive that I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick fix.

To me, play Tekken 5 Online with no lag is the best PSN game. You get some real intense fights. I challenge anyone to fight my Asuka/Jun.

Well you really look at that list.....and then you factor in that in ONE week I downloaded REZ HD, TRON, DISCS OF TRON, METAL SLUG 3, and another costume pack for BOMBERMAN LIVE......then throw in that you could DEMO all of those games before buying them.

Playstation Network titles are SORELY lacking.....at least give us playable demos instead of outright ripping us off on what a # of those basically = Web based FLASH Games.

I will say the best PSN games I have bought are MK2 and TEKKEN......

I think I can safely say the PS3 version might have some extra polish. But yes, you can get the fl0w experience for nothing.

You can also download Echochrome for free. But of course for both of these things the download is just a tech demo. It might give you a taster but that's about it.

fl0w on PS3 has 4 or 5 creatures and looks a damned sight better, plus of course motion control for trippy gameplay.

Echochrome has a bunch of levels done out for you, music and a stark design.
