This week's batch of Rock Band DLC is a triumvirate of Trent Reznor's industrial flare. It was noted in an copy of Official Xbox Magazine from late January, although for a March 18 release. The songs (all master tracks): Nine Inch Nails pack (440 MS points / $5.49)
March Of The Pigs -- (160 MS points / $1.99)
The Collector -- (160 MS points / $1.99)
The Perfect Drug -- (160 MS points / $1.99)
The songs will be available next Wednesday for Xbox 360 and Thursday for PlayStation 3. Videos of each found after the break.
If you are a NIN fan, there's no question you're buying this pack. March of the Pigs on drums, it's on.
I have Rock Band and I love the DLC format. $5 for 3 songs? That's the price of a beer in LA. $2 for a song? A lot of people spend more than that on coffee everday.
They continue to regularly release songs that are worth $2 to me and I will continue to buy them. Rock Band has been one of the most satisfying games I've bought in years.
I wonder how "Perfect Drug" will be on drums. One of the reasons the song has never been done live, according to Trent, is because the drums are "impossible with two arms."
As has been shown NUMEROUS times on this blog, most people here completely disagree with your taste in music. In spite of what you think, NIN is hardly what I would call mainstream MTV bullshit - especially not their older stuff (pre With Teeth). And they aren't just some upstart new rock band (they've been around since the late 80s, and Trent was doing stuff even before that).
We get it: you like crappy hair bands that no one else likes. And everyone else likes stuff (aka - music from talented artists) that you don't. If you dislike NIN so much, why are wasting time commenting on a NIN post? Do actually think you are going to sway the opinions of the those who don't have an opinion on them or, even more unlikely, the NIN fans?
Look man, I've seen T. Reznor play with Revolting Cocks, and of course I bought Pretty Hate Machine when it came out because one of my favorite producers (Adrian Sherwood) had touched part of it. But I don't really like NiN that much anymore, it's just not interesting to me. But I certainly don't think people who do love NiN suck or anything. I don't really see any reason to come on to a blog and insult other people's musical choices, especially only for differing with mine.
You sound really insecure when you do that.
Music can't always be measured on technical ability, Fernando. That can lead to boring pathetic mathematical exercises at Guitar Center Saturday morning guest appearances by people like Steve Vai.
Sometimes the simpler, poorly-played stuff just has more feeling and better intent than music by someone who plays better or more technically difficult material. Or why not just go for both "technical" and "fucking raw" and listen to Bad Brains? There, problem solved.
And a post-script about 'being on MTV' being considered a negative thing: it should be noted that both Ronnie James Dio and NiN have had many videos on MTV in their time. It's not a crime to be famous pop stars and sell records.
Why is it that people can't learn to respect that other people have tastes and that's a good thing? And it's a bad thing to put down someone else's tastes just because you don't get into it? I could easily say that Aurelio Flores Garza sucks monkeyballs. That the drum solo you linked to was horrible. That *you* should learn to be more discerning. That he can't even lick neil peart's shoes. But I won't. Because that's your opinion, and you're entitled to like what you want. Respect other people's rights...k?
You've convinced me, Fernando. I'm throwing away all my NIN records (or deleting them from my hard drive) and I'm going to exclusively listen to Brazillian drum circles.
(Seriously, why come into this thread and start a pissing match about what is "good music". Hello, art is subjective, end of discussion.)
On topic: I'm buying this pack immediately. March of Pigs on drums is going to be amazing, and I definitely want to rock the vocals, and throw down my microphone in between verses, and repeatedly bang into the guitarist trying to f' him up.
Plus, I have to laugh when people are labeling NIN as "new" music. This solidifies that everyone on this site is butt old! Downward Spiral came out in, what, 1994?
No way will they have the verbatim drum track for "March Of The Pigs". I'd like to see anyone who's not a professional drummer even come close to hitting the hi-hat notes with the rest of the beat.
hmm would've really liked some pretty hate machine or maybe "last" from broken. granted that isn't their most popular, perfect drug is still good though.
They need Guns by Computer from Year Zero Remixed (I'm not doing the 1337 speak version of the title). Also they need Wish, but like I said before *orgasm*.
Damn you rock band! Now I have to buy an Xbox 360 because you won't release your awesome box of sweet sweet deliciousness on the Wii (and even if you did, we'd probably be stuck with the vanilla version and no way to download new tracks (what's up with that Activision?)
First you added Radiohead and that made me want to buy Rock band, now you add NIN???
Oh my god...if you add anything from Tool or Modest Mouse I think I'd have to sell my brother right away and not wait for my next pay cheque..
