yep, they are. the amount of time it takes for either a refund or replacement sucks tho. but i guess its expected with any service such as this. activision really needs to make it up to us tho altho i doubt they will.

my vote is for a free extra les paul!

I was thinking they could finally get the DLC going and hand out some free songs as an apology. Like, lots of free songs. Lots.

Heh, I was just telling my wife I'd be happy with one free song when the game comes back re-mastered. Heck, even a crappy free song.

But we'll get nothing. And when it comes time to buy GHIV or Rock Band 2 we will remember.

Sounds like Activision has been addressing the problem the best they can, sounds like a bunch of losers trolling for free stuff, just like the Xbox 360 fanboys whining about a free XBLA game in compensation for a service outage during the holidays, shit happens, get over it. If there was a real attempt to "get over" on the gamers then by all means go for blood.

Seriously dude. I was without Live for those few days when the service was crappy, going in and out. But it wasn't the end of the world for me. I actually went into the real world and interacted with real people instead of complaining on message boards.

And then the free game later on... wow people couldn't be any whinier. You're getting free stuff, and if you already had the game they gave you $10 in points instead. It's FREE. They didn't have to do anything.

Now Activision is giving free refunds if you are unhappy... What more can you possibly complain about?

The difference is that I am pretty certain that Activision knew about the problem and released the game anyway without letting anyone know about the issue and without removing the dolby pro logic symbol on the box.

Am i the only one who isn't peeved? These huge recalls take time, and being without a video game for 4 weeks is such a 1st world problem i cant seem to bring myself to bitch about it.

Yea...I'm kinda milking it, because I can. It's not really a big deal, but I have no problem with making the best of it, in terms of what I can get out of their mistake, at this point. It's been long enough that it's annoyed me.

I actually asked them to trade me my disc for the PS3 disc so I could use DLC, since they messed up so badly. Then I'll just sell my Wii guitar on eBay, and buy a PS3 one retail.

I think I'm going to hold onto my mono game. I don't care for the idea of being without it for 4 weeks, and the sound "problem" only becomes a problem when you can't hear your game, in my opinion. Lawsuit worthy? Only in America.

It would be nice, though, if Activision would give us an option - keep the mono game, get x instead.

i'm probably keeping my mono copy until brawl comes out, not enough games on the wii to keep me occupied

I'm more pissed about getting my email address passed around. I think that's more egregious than the mono sound.

It's weird. Last week they sent me an envelope, and i sent the game out. Yesterday I recieved another blank envelope. Did this happen to anyone else?

My email was one of those thrown out into the public... and honestly I have yet to see any real negative effect from it.

Can anyone tell me why I should be more upset about that than I am? Does it make a difference that I have the foresight to not give any companies emails where I care if I get spammed or not? Let me know... maybe I'm missing something here.

I sent my disc out... I think I'm going to live through this...

it would be nice to get a free les paul, doubt it will happen. Refund would rock as well, then i could afford another les paul.

I'm just surprised that this is still so difficult to find in stores (around here, anyway). I'm wondering if the horrible combination of bugged discs and producing standalone guitars has killed the supply.

I never would have noticed the game was mono, especially with no basis for comparison. I'm just going to keep it, since exchanging it seems like more hassle than it's worth. I'd honestly prefer some sort of expansion disc or something.

I don't give a shit if they decidd to give anything out for free, but if I had to choose, I'd say a free guitar, or a discount on standalone guitars (if they ever actually MAKE them!) This seriosuly isn't something to get bitchy about though. I duno if you guys were joking or not, but I hope so. I have other things to do, other games to play, friends to hang out with, so I can wait 4 weeks for a better copy.

Now that I think about it I would like to see Activision throw us some sort of bone for what was a pretty big SNAFU. The exchange process seems a little flawed too. All of this just makes me glad that I picked up two bundles - I've returned one and can play the second one until the replacement arrives.

i have avoided purchasing gh3 after hearing about the sound problem, and now i'm waiting to hear when the repaired version is on store shelves. has anyone heard if this is happening yet? or if there is a way to tell if the box in the store is new or old stock?

The best way [the only way] to see if the store stock is mono or not is to buy it...play it...test it...get disappointed in it...ship it.

All be fore 8/31, and you're good to go.

I haven't heard/seen any news on whether or not the store stock is new or old.

I'm just glad I got my 2nd copy last week at TRU when it was on sale for $70 (I still had my $25 Mario Galaxy GC = ~$50 after tax for me).

This way I won't have to go without the game for weeks and weeks while the incompetents at Craptivision replace my 1st copy.

After my stereo Disc arrives (I still don't have the "mail it back" package they sent out), and the stand alone Guitars are released, I might just return my second copy for the $132, and use that to buy a 2nd Guitar.

I can live with the swapped out disc no questions asked. So they screwed up with the ProLogic 2 thing but you were still able to play the game. If I had a choice for what Activision can do to make it up I would say keep supporting the Wii with Guitar Hero games and fingers crossed DLC as well as other future titles not related to Guitar Hero.

Current new versions of the game do not have the ProLogic logo on them. Based upon the sales of the game I would figure that 90% of the original run was sold out. So based upon this when you see the ProLogic logo return you should be safe to buy it.
