Throw the hippest gaming parties with Tetris ice cubes

We suppose that they're technically ice tetrominoes, but that just sounds so much less hip. Next time you have friends and colleagues over for caviar and Rock Band, keep their cocktails cool with these Tetris-themed ice "cubes," fashioned like those seven shapes made famous by Alexey Pajitnov's classic falling block puzzle game. Of course, you could always make them yourself, but nothing says swanky like flexible silicone trays.

Unfortunately, the designer states on his website that the "Tetrice" tray hasn't been put into production yet, but that he's currently seeking out companies to produce it. We hope he finds one soon, because we're already planning our first fancy soirée: black tie only, and you must bring your own controller.

Does the straight block always come out last?

No. The square one would come out last. The L and T shapes have the highest surface to area ratio, followed by the Z and straight block... then finally the square one.

haha. I counted wrong... all of them have the same surface to area ratio except for the square one... I'm still right about the square one coming out last though.

further proof that tetris will probably neer go out of style even if all the newer tetris games are all pretty lame and low on good innovation

and how come my ice never looks so clear and perfect?

Cause you probably use tap water.

The only way to get it clear is to vibrate the air molecules out.

they could have also blow-torched them.

If you want your ice to be clear boil it twice. That gets rid of the impurities which make household ice cloudy.

Those sure are some "Cool" ice cubes. Hehehe

I just hope the Chinese manufacturer they go with does not use any lead.

Only if it was designed by an American company.

Unfortunately, I don't think these would look that cool if you actually put them in a glass with your beverage of choice.

Might be fun molds to use for jello, though.
