yeah, they are going to revolutionize gaming with a sequel to an average FPS. Poor graphics and average game play.

This is likely part of the Sony super-hype train and will probably be a let-down like most of the hype Sony peddles. But we shall see!

Oh come on, they were shown pre-rendered cinematics and told it was in game footage. This IS SONY. Remember Killzone 2.

First it was in-game footage.
Then it was what they were aiming for.
Then it was just a cinematic.

It would be like watching that kick-ass Halo 3 ad, where someone tells you that that was in-game footage. You would be like, "this will change videogames forever".

ok , but look at killzone 2 now. It looks better than what it did in the trailer. So by your logic this game will be miles beyond what he actually saw.

Killzone 2 does look good, but c'mon, it doesn't live up to the origional trailer. (Although, it does come pretty frickin' close.)

I've seem them side by side and there is a notable difference, with the cinematic looking better. Needless to say, the game is still beautiful qo_op

qo_op,

Yeah, the graphics look really good pre-rendered and in-game, but the actual gameplay was what I was really referring to. When you are told something that plays like an interactive movie and told it is actual gameplay footage, you get excited.

Whatever this story refers to, I am sure it is not the actual graphical prowess of the game. We can already achieve that near photorealism, but not the whole
"plays like real life" thing. Heck, Crysis is still a standard FPS when you take away the pretty graphics.

Kz2's screenshots look better than the original cinematic, but they're fake. Oh, I'm sorry, "touched up." Dramatically. In Photoshop.

I bet he saw LA Noire the new game from Rockstar (Take Two) since Sony let Rockstar break their timed exclusive of GTA IV. The game sounds awesome its about 1940's LA and you play a detective. My guess is its something like the Black Dhalia (a fantastic movie).
