We know that most of you are probably too busy to bother with a Wii Menu update that you suspect adds very little in the way of functionality. We just wanted to take a moment to tell you that your suspicions are entirely correct: That little blue glow promises only version 3.2, a Disc Channel change that lets you know when an inserted disk has an update on it. You may now return to ignoring it.
To Zero Cool and the rest of you l33t hax0rs, worry not: The update apparently does nothing to impede the Twilight Princess hacks we're sure you've all grown so fond of.

Don't lie, that alone is worth having it though.

I guess that means that I'll continue to ignore that blue glow until I'm high enough to actually put in Endless Ocean...

Funny - we always ignore the blue light too. I saw it on this morning and told my gf that the Wii wanted to talk to her - she prompty walked away.
As far as endless ocean, we too have only put it in for about 20 minutes when it first arrived. I need to find the inspiration to play it.

So I take it they're allowing patches now? Or did I interpret this incorrectly?

No, it's just that when you put in a disc, say, Super Mario Galaxy, that has a newer firmware than what your Wii has, it'll scroll across the bottom of the disc channel now.
I THINK that's now it works at least...every game I have has already applied its update if it had one, but that's how I read it.

...I say nothing important, humorous, or otherwise noteworthy, and I get upvoted to the max.

Shut up Wii! Get back in your cage and don't talk to me until you have something important to say. Or until March 9th, whichever comes first...

I am so jaded over the Wii now. I hate my Wii. If it weren't for Smash Bros I would have burnt it to the ground already. Every time I look at it sitting there on my shelf collecting dust I almost throw up. I am so done with it and all its shovelware. It has two games that I like. Period. And one of those games is a damned Gamecube game.
That's right. I said it all. I am a Nintendo Freaking Fanboy and I can't wait for the Wii to go die in a corner somewhere. I am tired of waggling my hands around and saying its more fun than Mass Effect.
Oh boy, a new stupid update. I guess I'll actually have to sign online with my stupid Wii for the first time since January just so I can not notice anything different. Ugh.
*barfs*
Okay, I'm done now. Sorry, kids.
I just really hope that Smash Bros. rules.

I was sorely disappointed in the update.
Give me a MP3 or DivX playback channel
Give me HD compatibility
Give me the Everybody's Nintendo channel
Give me a Pandora channel (Finetune sucks, don't offer it to me as a recommendation).
Give me something other than these damn useless upgrades. I love my Wii, and don't regret the purchase one bit but dammit Nintendo, I was some basic functionality from this machine that we've come to expect in this day and age.

It's not about the waggle, it's about the IR. That's where it's at, and that's where the core developers developing core games will migrate.

So who provides your weird connection? And is it really weird or just a little weird?

This gen is first that handheld (DS) got more loving so far than the home console (Wii) from me. May be because away from home so mostly DS is only console available, or may be that this handheld has more than just pokemon and Wii hasn't shown tremndous amount of stuff yet (though saying that I've barely any VC games, still load of games I want but don't have).
On second thought, I'm just away from home and hence from Wii, thats why it doesn't get any love except for the huge orgies during holidays.

Man I hardly touch my DS anymore. I wonder if the battry still holds a charge it's been so long....
I think the Everyones Nintendo channel will change that though.

WiiWare will do a hell of a lot to get me playing Wii since with most main console games (and even VC since they basically are meant for same time periods) I'll only play if got few hours free to play.
Everyones Nintendo Channel will encourage me to get my Wii out, even if its just for access to DS demos.
