According to XGen, Defend Your Castle (not to be confused with Castle Crashers) will be coming to Wii Ware in "early" 2008. The publisher reported last month that an "existing cult classic" was currently in the works for Nintendo's downloading service, but only recently confirmed which game it was. Most of you assumed it would be Stick Arena, but instead it's the castle-defending Flash title that's headed to the Wii.
The game will cost 500 Wii Points, and will (as you'd expect) look better than its Flash counterpart. XGen also promises some extra gameplay features, but will all this be enough to make you guys shell out some cash for the title?
If you have no idea what Defend Your Castle is, you can check it out the Flash game here.

The only Flash game I'd pay for is Fancy Pants Adventure.

Oh hell yes, that game is like sonic meets mario, but done well. It could use some bug testing, but I'd pay for a version with just a graphical boost.

No love to Desktop Tower Defense 1.5? Shame... Although, when you really think about it, I'm not really sure DTD would work on the Wii. I think the wiimote is just too inaccurate. Thought I'm sure if he wanted to, Preecep could make it work...Man, I am on the fence with this. I'd better go consult my good friend, Mr. Monster Assault.

I dunno. I was kinda hoping they would make Pillage the Village, which is the prequel to this game, for Wii Ware. It's a much cooler game, but oh well.

Bah!!!!
The more I look at Wii Ware, the more I feel like it will become a dumping ground for cheesy flash ports. If I wanted to play this crappy game, id play it FOR FREE on my pc.

totally right. Tower defense games would be great on the Wii. I don't want a flash game though, I would like a WC3 style game with lots of character

Wow thought this would be getting more support. I LOVE this game. One of my favorite flash games of all time. A redone version for the Wii with more features will be great. I think this version will be harder just because I think I have better reflexes moving my mouse, but I will just have to see. I am so willing to pay $5 for it. Also one more thing, why would this be confused with Castle Crashers? The only similarity is the name castle in it. But Castle Crashers looks amazing, and great job to Tom, Dan, and every one at the Behemoth Studios. I REALLY hope they decide to move this to Wiiware (or even on a disc, I would buy that if it was a cheaper game).

Cool,
However, there's really no momentum-esque interface to the game. It's more of a drag to the top of the screen, and drop than it is a toss. You should be able to flick them, and watch them fly... You know what I mean. Perhaps it will be updated for the Wii...
Heck, you can just visit that site on your wii now and play it...
Matt!

If I understand you correctly, I think what you want is in this game's prequel that just came out like 2 weeks ago: Pillage the Village. I would imagine that the WiiWare version of Defend Your Castle would look more like PTV than DYC, with the semi-anime character taking the roles of the stickmen, the momentum system being implemented, etc. but you never know. And if I didn't understand you correctly, then I'm sorry for wasting your time.

Ok so... Why would anyone pay for a flash game, when they can play it for free on their computer...
I'm not getting this whole pay for flash game craze, nor the pay for classic ports. $8 for C64 and NES games, what a waste.

I could only see uneducated people even considering to buy this game. No offence to the creator, but this game sucks...and for 5 bucks I'd rather put it towards a "real game" like just as an example, Super Mario Bros.
