Video: Expertly drummed The Perfect Drug
28
Since yesterday's release of Rock Band Nine Inch Nails DLC it has quickly become obvious that "The Perfect Drug" is a drummer's nightmare. Five plus minutes of drumming hell that's so chaotic that our tiny arms can't handle the sheer amount of drum banging that's involved. But it is obviously no challenge for seasoned Rock Band drummer GurnKiller who not only played the song nearly flawlessly, but did it on expert and gold starred it as well. Watch in admiration, but know that there is still something to shoot for. Try "The Perfect Drug" on expert, earn gold star status AND nail it 100%. Go get 'em tiger.
[Thanks, homer34]

The video only shows 99% not 100. First comment?

Anybody can load the song in practice mode and watch the notes go down the screen. How about a video of him drumming.

what are you talking about? as far as i remember rock band practice being like theres no crowd or anything. also it wouldnt show the notes being hit if he just had the song scrolling down in practice mode.

No dude anyone can't do that. Even with practice it would take a long time to get that good. I agree I want to see him drumming but that was still amazing.
How about how he went with the beat on the little bonus sections.
Was insane

Yeah, it's certainly not practice mode. And even then it doesn't hit them for you.
But my leg hurts just watching all that bass pedal.

NIN plays with real drums during live shows.
surprisingly march of the pigs isn't the hardest song of the bunch.

This one is made electronically using samples and a drum machine and it's never been played live.

Seeing as how this is the easiest song in the game to drum to, I'm not exactly sure this is worthy of a post. Must be a slow news day.

Are you serious? This is not by any means the easiest song to drum to on expert. I really hope you were trying to make a joke there.....

You're an idiot if you think this is the easiest song to play on drums in Rock Band.

You'll notice a pattern: beyond giveaways, they're all achingly idiotic and whiny.

Dude Say it aint so by Weezer or the Cowboy Song by Bon Jovi are hands down the easiest. For that matter no songs are easy on expert but this is an advanced song. Its probably not as hard as Enter Sandman or Cherub Rock but by all means its not an easy song.
I never made it past playing on Hard after my girl and I beat it and got into the Hall Of Fame.

It's pretty awesome that they have you handle all of this directly given that it's handled by synth and recorded loops normally. I'm looking forward to trying it.

What an odd song to have to drum since it was created by a machine from the start.

Actually, if you listen to the actual song, you can hear a composite of live and electronic drums. And the drum break in the middle of this song is one of the most badass (Under 1 minute long) drum solo breaks in the last dozen or so years, easy.
Props to the guy in the video (though we need to help you with your improv parts/fills to make it sound cooler)

Oh, hey... I made xbox360fanboy.com again! Anyways, I working on being able to make video like azuritereaction (http://www.youtube.com/user/azuritereaction) where you can see me and the note chart at the same time. Maybe I'll get started on that tonight?
For the record, yes, this was the first gold of this, and at the time it was a first place score. However, since then, someguy913ps has beat my score by 1,550 points. I'm going for the FC tonight. Wish me luck!

I think it should be "gold starred," not "gold stared."
That is, unless he stared at the song until he got gold somehow.

Seems more like freaking DDR than Rock Band. But the banging stays the same.

I think its funny that Perfect Drug is on Rock Band considering that Trent Reznor has stated in many interviews that they will never play that song in concert because the drums are too difficult. When recording Perfect Drug they layered multiple drum tracks. It would take at least 2 drummers to perform that song live.

I just tried playing it on hard and it was too much for me.
This person is nuts. Get em a real set of drums stat (if they don't already).
