Wii Fit priced for Europe
The conversion of those prices to USD ends up being around $130, but Europeans are used to paying more for their games, and although Nintendo has yet to set price for the US, it did say that it would be under $100. So, $99.99?

Anyone who reads IGN will know that in their recent survey (which got a massive 6116 people), less than 15% of people said they'd buy the game if it's over $89.99. I'm very much in the side that wouldn't.
How can Nintendo expect casual gamers to want to pay that much for what is, in all reality, a bunch of mini-games with yet another peripheral. Is there even any evidence this stuff helps you lose wait yet?

It probably *is* funny to economists.
The majority of people, IMO, have no concept of manufacturing costs, either. It probably costs Nintendo $8 to make the board with the wireless chip and bundled batteries, to say nothing of the cheap dev cost of the software. That is soooo totally worth $100!
Hell, I was sure the Wii would launch for $200 before the system was revealed at E3, but after seeing the long lines of people waiting to try out the machine, I knew Nintendo would jack up the price to $250. They did.

I'll second the guess that it'll debut here at $79 or $89.
1 Euro = 1.4865 U.S. dollars
The dollar is sinking quickly, AND you EU folks are getting price gouged!

All in all I play too little to justify buying it. Apart from that I get my excersize in other places.

Casuals already pay $250 for Wii Sports.
They won't balk at the idea of another $100 for Wii Fit.
Is the board really that expensive/complicated that it can add another £30-40 to the price of a game? I doubt it.

A) Wii-fit board features enhanced doormat capabilities. When your guest steps on it at the front door, it says "HEY-A WELCOME TO-A MY-A HOME-A".
B) If you remove the top plastic, there is a bonus surprise heating coil so you can invite your friends over for some tabletop sukiyaki, or perhaps a pot of fondue.
C) Have a door that just won't stay open? Just wedge your wii-fit board into the crack and it holds the door open for hours and hours! No power necessary!
D) Plug in your favorite headphones and take your wii-fit board on the road! Just step on the left or right side to change tracks. Of course, it is only in mono, but portable music was never such good exercise until now.
E) Hard to reach that top shelf in the kitchen? Wii-fit board has been engineered with the latest height-enhancement technology. Just place it under the area you want to reach, step up and you will magically be a few inches taller than you were!
Now, tell me again if this isn't worth the price.

The game isn't anything special so why does the damn board cost so much?
$100 for a big paperweight is way way WAY too much. The most I could see this being is $70. GH is a better game, you know there will be more of them so it's not a waste of money.
This could very well be a huge waste of money.
Nice job Nintendo, you fucked up yet again.

Man the Wii is going to have a stellar 2008 with yet another AAA title that puts Sony's lineup to shame.
That's it...I am going on Ebay right now and buying the most innovative and best priced console of this generation. And it will only cost me $400.
Wii on fellas
I love Mario

I used to like Nintendo but I've felt let down a little (along with the other 2). Now my DS and Wii haven't been ued much.
I didn't read your post either. I don't care about your opinion with a name and avatar like that. Soz ard.

The price is kinda ridiculous, i cant see many people shelling out that much for it, especially since dance mat games are is practically the same thing for way cheaper (and actually have a competitive gameplay aspect!)

WiiFit = dumbest.idea.ever.
And I've owned plenty of gimmick short lived peripherals (ie the PowerGlove, which was not "so bad" like Lucas said it was.)

Hmm.
Question for you then -
would you also say that the rest of the world does not know that hentai and alien tentacle/monster rape porn is the best porn in the world?
Or that subway train sims are the greatest thing since sliced bread #2 aka Final Fantasy?
Thought so.
Japanese people are weird and fickle. Don't take their sales numbers as anything but sales numbers.
I've heard so much excitement for this thing from non-gamers that I'm worried there will be none left for me come launch day. There's a mad hype for it.
Oh and following your own advice, all you're hearing here is the comments from gamers who were never the market for this product. And you're calling it a failure already (despite it being the complete opposite in Japan). You make me laugh.
Wiifit will sell very well. Just not to gamers.
WiiSports part 2 says hi.
Pre-emptive sorry for that.
Oddly enough it comes to the same price as what my bro paid for Halo 3 and its "DLC", or Oblivion and the DLC. Or any other game. But in this case you get hardware with it.
£70. I'm there. But I was expecting £80-90.
Roll on release date!

£70? Thats too much for Wii Sports:Legs Edition.
I would only buy if can down to budget price.

For a single-use peripheral? No, but if it gets utilized well (which is still up in the air), i'll totally go for that
