Then buy three. The $5 shipping is for up to three cards.

Are you seriously going to worry about speed when you're being told to use it purely for storage? It's not like you're going to be running anything off the card; once it's there, it probably won't be moved for a very long. It's not really worth the $5 for that.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. SD is a standard media card type. The only issue that could potentially arise is when you start using really large SD cards (but 2gigs is fine).

What do you mean?

Any SD Card is compatible for the wii.

Sir Fatty, your link is mistaken. It says "not all SD cards are compatible", but then the only case it gives of *not* being compatible is if the cards are over 2GB. That's impossible, though -- if it's over 2GB, it's *SDHC*, not merely SD. That's like saying not all CDs are compatible with your CD-ROM drive, because it won't read DVDs -- of course not, it's not a DVD drive.

Anyway, yes, of course these will work, and don't bill it as a 12 dollar 2GB card, bill it as three 2GB cards for $26, which is a substantially better deal.

Of course, I'm still not doing it, because I'd rather spend a few bucks extra and get MicroSD instead (since that's what most of my flash-consuming devices need, and they work on the Wii with an adapter).

JC,

I've never done it, and was under the impression that only saved game data could be backed up. Thanks for the heads up.

Not bad, but I'd rather go with a brand I trust.

Dane Elec is one of the major SD card sellers, and I'm surprised more people haven't heard of them?

Plus, almost all SD cards are produced by the same companies, just branded differently for sale...

You can't claim to be a major seller of something, when no one has heard of you. That name did have a vague recoglection to me, but not enough to really go for it. Besides, I'm going Micro with all future SD cards seems how everything else seems to being using those instead of standard SD. My next purchase will be one that includes a MiniSD adapter so I have that if I ever need it, too.
