Well, it's good to know. But I'm still wondering how Zangief does a Spinning Piledriver to anyone without doing serious damage to his Reese's Pieces. Poor guy, he must be infertile by now. ;'[

I don't even remember that. Then again I haven't played a Street Fighter game since II. I like it that way but I'll be getting 4 when it comes out.

Umm this is one instance where I disagree with the company...

Fuck it...it has and always will be SHADOWLAW!

However I'd definitely appreciate it if Capcom made a timeline of the series so I know just exactly what the heck is going on in SFIV...

I hope its like DOA4 with a storyline to go along with it.

Laugh all you want to man..DOA4 had a pretty damn good storyline in my opinion. What with Helena, the ninjas, and all the other characters. I liked how they all interacted. Plus there were cutscenes when you were doing the single player/arcade mode.

All I'm saying is that I want a story to go along with the fighting...is it so much to ask for?

So fuck off sony fanboy...

LOL So quick to jump to expletives... pretty shallow, but hey, whatever.

Anyway, DOA's storyline (or lack thereof) IS damnably lame, even for a fighting game series. Granted, it's not as lacking as VF, not as convoluted as KOF, or even as repeatedly-retconned as SF... but definitely as ridiculous as TEKKEN or even BLOODY ROAR(if you want to even bother considering it at all).

In the end, let's face it... gamers are paying $40+ for a barely covered-boobs fighting game(when a XXX hardcore throwdown DVD is equal or cheaper in price). Anyone could've slapped on a elementary-school inspired story to follow that... and what better generic material than "Ninja vs the World/Clan power vacuum"? And c'mon, man... what fighting game out there HASN'T milked the whole "cloning" or "bio-punk siphoning of fighters' abilities" to death? But hey, that's the joy of fighting games -- the fact that you're playing it for the gameplay and violent tactics than story. DOA's no different than the other games in this genre, but far from the best(compared gameplay-wise to the likes of VF; storyline-wise compared to SOUL CALIBUR).

While I can't stand even the sight of Tomonobu Itagaki, I applaud the fact that he continues to hustle people out of cash for this second-rate series. Even you have to admit that they(TECMO)knows this -- the commercial for DOA3 even joked about it being a male-appealing, shallow fighting game.... "She Kicks High" and all that craziness.

Umm where did I say that DOA's storyline was revolutionary or Academy Award winning material?

NO WHERE idiot.

I just said I liked it. Its a freaking fighting game. Not a Shakespeare drama....

That being said however DOA did a fine job IMO of creating a decent story that made the game flow easily and connected things very well.

Thats ALL I have to say on it.

You trying to shit on the game is just stupid and shows how arrogant sony fanboys are.

So once again you know what to do if you don't agree with me (which is your right).

Before I begin, let it be known that I haven't insulted you directly - so I'll "respectfully" ask you do the same. I keep re-reading my SN, previous posts, and even glimpsed twice at my icon... I can't figure out where you keep getting this "sony fanboy" remark from. I couldn't give a rat's patoot about the SONY company beyond the fact that MGS appeared on it(hence the SN). But it's been on Nintendo and Microsoft systems too... so if it's possible to be a fan of all three, then hey - *guilty as charged*. And speaking of multiple consoles - let's not forget that the DEAD OR ALIVE series did appear on consoles/arcades other than Microsoft's own. So the odd notion of hating on the series because of it's recent Xbox-popularity is moot.

Now...

If you re-read the(accidental double)post above, I never denoted the *opinion* you stated about liking the damn game. That's your perrogative. I'm not out to change anyone's mind about anything ... it's not worth either of our time to discuss that. Nor am I picking a fight or console bashing here.

But if bashing is to be done on this topic, it's as aforementioned -- fighting game plot/storylines.

I stated that most fighting games, DOA especially, have god-awful, laughable storylines. I didn't even cite you as saying "it was revolutionary/academy award winning" because you didn't say it! However, I agree on having a fighting games with cutscenes - it's a welcome addition! But let's face it, that extra work is for nothing if the story & plot are as deep as a shotglass. I even explained further by throwing in examples of not just DOA's faults, but two known and cliche'd examples of similar storylines across the fighting game genre. So it's NOT just DEAD OR ALIVE, it's everywhere. I personally love playing fighting games... the gameplay, tactics, and some of the character designs are the biggest appeal here. True 3D fighters(VF, DOA, TEKKEN, RIVAL SCHOOLS, et al) even moreso, since it expands the technical gameplay exponentially. :)
