SingStar SingStore gets 67 songs with March 7 update

The karaoke faithful over at sister-site PS3 Fanboy point out that a lot of the songs are from previous PS2 versions of SingStar, but if these mega-updates continue it might help alleviate the complaints that the SingStore wasn't living up to its potential -- especially if a lot of the songs are recycled from PS2 versions.

the launch for NA is in May. My wife has been waiting for this game for a very long time, I hope it really finally comes out in May with the promised 300 songs at the singstore covering ALL genres aside from the top 40 Krap.
The PSeye integration should prove to be alot of fun, getting to see some good singers and some NOT so good singers or some downright sillyness is a big plus.
I wonder, does anyone know if you can use the PSeye as a microphone? It has 4 omnidirectional mics built in so why not?

Actually, for fellows like myself who has always been interested in Singstar but never picked up a copy, snagging songs from previous games ala carte is a good thing for me. Since, well, I;d prefer building my own unique tracklist via DLC than switching between 30 song mix discs.

...and then watch the video of it over and over again from multiple angles in slow-mo and marvel at how cool it looks when those douchetastic sunglasses shatter off his face.
And then upload it to YouTube and set it to some bad emo/goth music and pat myself on the back every time one of YouTube's commenter's (who are all of the highest class) tells me how awesome I am.

As for SINGSTAR... chalk it up to not being able to please everyone; like every other musical/karaoke game out there. It's just too tough to cater to everyone's listening taste without expensively coming up with seperate genre editions.

Its too bad licensing (I think it was licensing) was such a huge hurdle for the SingStore. I don't like the game, but I feel a little bad for people that do and got boned by the negotiation time.
