Come on people, vote at
http://unspun.amazon.com/Most-Wanted-Artists-to-Be-DLC-in-Rock-Band/list/show/14562

for your favorite bands so we can show HMX exactly what we want! I've noticed the list is getting much more settled near the top plus the list is currently 8th place of all time on unspun. Meaning the list is gaining momentum.

That said, I'll be skipping this week. Good to see a nice variety of stuff still showing up though.

Ahhh..it brings me back to the days me and flower girl would smoke KB and drop acid and sway to the music... from show to show selling vegi-burgers in the parking lot to raise money to get to the next show. Going weeks unshowered....

Oh wait..no. I can't stand hippies.

Well, all except for the showering thing...

no, you are not alone in your indifference to the GD. i went to a show in oakland in 1991 and left after about an hour. had fraternity brothers pissing in my ear the week prior about how i was going to be blown away, etc. well, after a few joints, a fistful of mushrooms and at least 10 beers i was bored stiff. i love live music, but that wasnt entertaining.

Someone should keep a running tally as to how much the entire Rock Band experience costs if you were to buy a full setup and all the songs available.

It's got to be running near $400 by now.

I've thought the same thing about country music. Which is odd because I hate country music. But I think it should be available for those that like it.

Gee, I thought people wanted to play Rock Band to have fun, not be bored. Oh well, sell some plates of spaghetti and dingleberry necklaces and wristbands in your favorite parking lot to keep Jerry Bear's legacy alive, kids. Blech.

Even if you hate The Grateful Dead, you have to really appreciate the content. This is probably what Harmonix was going to do with Guitar Hero II (360)

real thrash metal from the early 80s to the very early 90s is amazing. MUCH better than all this stoner rock and redneck rock that's bombarding this game right now. It's also the most challenging music for a game like this too and will actually keep me awake while playing.

Now, the stuff coming out in a couple weeks that harmonix labeled thrash pack is not anywhere near thrash, it's just death metal wannabe garbage.

Touch is a nice little tune but overrated. It popularized the dead out of existence, basically, and aside from the scarlet-touch-fire stuff in the early 80s never had much to offer live. I dunno. I would have liked to see a jam, like help-slip-franklin, or something of that ilk. I'm not stupid enough to believe that that would ever happen, of course. This'll do.

I notice they did the democratic thing and put three Bobby tracks and three Jerry tracks on the release. That's fine, but Miracle can't hold a candle to the rest of the stuff up there. Jack Straw would have been my choice.

I'll be picking these up regardless, of course.

No reason to change your choice, Jack Straw would be an AWESOME song to play...

And the line coming out of the jam is always a fun one to sing. "Jack Straw from Wichita, cut his buddy down..."

Kiwi: Jack Straw is undoubtedly one of their best- I was just talking about Jerry vs. Bobby songs. They share so many verses in Straw that I don't this it's either one of their songs- one of the rare "shared" tunes. Me & My Uncle = definitely a weir song.

And the section you mentioned is probably my favorite part of the tune, especially when Jerry's pumped up enough to shout them ;)

This is great and all, but we were promised whole albums! Hopefully these'll sell well and more will come down the pipeline.

First, I get that not everyone loves the Grateful Dead, but those of us that do like jam and classic rock this is a huge thing. Not enough Classic Rock DLC so far in my opinion, with way more of it heavier or faster or more modern. I didn't spit venom at the Metallica and Punk fans when they had their week.

This is a band that built its fans based on live performance too, which seems perfect for Roack Band. And with my friends at least, these will be crowd favorites for late night Rock Band sessions. "I need a miracle" makes me think of wookies in the lot hoping to get gifted a ticket more than the song, but the other 5 are bigtime solid Dead songs. Touch of Grey might have been their biggest commerical hit, but real Dead fans don't really consider it a highlight, so its omission doesnt suprise or bother me at all. And Dark Star? are you kidding? thats like a 30 minute space jam improv song and wouldnt translate to Rock Band well... Friend of the Devil though, yeah, thats be nice. I'm totally in, though I do think the price of songs should be more in line with the disc cost, ie: 50+ songs for $50...

This is great news. I like lots of the content they already have but I wanted my parents to play and they just couldn't get into much of what's offered. Not that my parents are even dead fans, they like the game and want less abrasive music and this is it.
